Peter, Paul, and Mary chosen for biblical reference? Maybe. It is doubtful that the three ever interacted with each other. They are probably just convenient names that help carry the song forward naturally. It is also significant to note that it's two male names and one female name which fits the context of the rest of the song. Yeah, 3P is a threesome according to urban dictionary, but is also one letter away from DP(look it up if you have to) which one may subconsciously associate it with or even hear if you are guessing at the lyrics while listening. The lines "Got one eighty degrees, And I'm caught in between." seem to reinforce this idea. |
