Marianas Trench – Perfect Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is to people who expect everything about the band to be perfect, the way they want it to be, and Josh is kind of saying "I'm doing my best, we're doing our best, so just be happy that we're here at all and not just quitting." ... Yeah.

Paramore – All I Wanted Lyrics 14 years ago
"Think of me when you're out
When you're out there
I'll beg you nice from my knees
And when the world treats you way too fairly
Well, it's a shame I'm a dream"

I think this song is about a friend or someone close to you who moved on. The way I see it, they might have made it big and gotten a bigwig job somewhere else, where you don't get to see them often and you're just a memory from the days when you were close to them. You want not to forget you just because they've made it big.

"All I wanted was you"

This is sort of a case of not knowing what you have 'till it's gone, I think, and now that they're gone you realize that you just want them back and want to be with them. It's that simple.

"I think I'll pace my apartment a few times
And fall asleep on the couch
And wake up early to black and white reruns
That escape from my mouth"

basically what it says. They pace their apartment and fall asleep, but wake up early and start thinking about all the times you shared. You know when you kind of laugh to yourself about things that happened, but they're so far in the past that you can't quite remember them? I think that's what she's referring to here.

"I could follow you to the beginning
Just to relive the start
Maybe then we'd remember to slow down
At all of our favorite parts"

You just want to go back to when you were close, the beginning, because now you see that you shouldn't take whatever time you two had together for granted. If you could relive it, you'd remember to cherish every moment of it.

This song is so amazing. <3

Paramore – Careful Lyrics 14 years ago
The whole song is about people who live inside their own comfort zone and never try to reach out and follow their heart and do nothing but try to conform to what others want them to be. This song is about trying to tell people to reach out of that comfort zone, to take risks. Hayley said she lived like that once, hence the line "you look like I did". The person resists all attempts to get them to be themselves ("you resist me just like this")

The line "You can't tell me to heal" is actually in quotes, as if the person this song is being sung about is telling the singer that they can't possibly tell them what to do or what's right. I think the last two lines are the singer remembering what it felt like to finally realize that they've wasted their own life trying to make other people like them ("shut down") and they're trying to warn people not to let it get that far.

I love this song.
