The Magnetic Fields – Punk Love Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Me too. However you could say the whole notion and element of repetition here would make anyone start to think it sounds like fuck love. So maybe it was intentional? |
Hey Marseilles – From A Terrace Lyrics | 11 years ago |
corrected that for you. |
Bloodhound Gang – Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I think this is about world hunger, and life, and the meaning of life and death, and how it affects us all, and being heartbroken, and the corruption of the state governments. nah who am i kidding - its about sex. Jeeze guys in the title of the song ;D |
James Vincent McMorrow – Higher Love Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This is a cover of the #1 80s hit of the same name by Steve Winwood http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higher_Love |
alt-J – Ms Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"I’ve pillowed you so many times this week" I can not help but feel this is a reference to Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind (2004) - where Joel and Clem' both part-take in this game in which they try to suffocate each other? Or maybe it is just that - that he's tried to suffocate the ex-lover. |
Recover – Not A Word Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I can only think... it might be about someone coming into their life unexpectedly and then leaving. It's hard to say with such little material. Great however! |
Jay Jay Pistolet – Vintage Red Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Also shouldn't it be "Is a bit of time where time is due" instead of "Is a bit of time where time is ju" Makes more sense xD |
IAMX – The Great Shipwreck Of Life Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i think its pretty simplistic... although ive been proved wrong with Chris' work. im thinking its about that we all have bad days, and those who pretend nothing can harm them (politicians?) are just as human as us - but we always rely on them? im not really sure if im honest :P |
Bat for Lashes – Sarah Lyrics | 13 years ago |
it is quite strange, almost gothic like in its sound and lyrics >.< |
Bat for Lashes – What's A Girl To Do Lyrics | 13 years ago |
is it just me, but for the talked intro, doesnt it sound hauntingly similar to when Polly Scattergood talks on her tracks :S |
Bat for Lashes – Trophy Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Yeah, as a pair of fresh eyes on the lyrics to this song, id would say its about rap, definitely the part "When I got my trophy back, It took some time, To polish it to gold from black", saying that she doesnt want sex any more, then again it could be about other things sexually related! |
Conor Oberst – Big Black Nothing Lyrics | 13 years ago |
ive never listened to Conor Oberst before, and started with the album Outer South. And it was this track that hooked me in, just something about it - its fun to listen to. :) |
Deftones – Knife Party Lyrics | 13 years ago |
is it just me or is this song really really sexy.... this would be one of my top sexy songs i know. it just feels so dirty when i listen to it. |
Deftones – Pink Maggit Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Aaah another song i love from White Pony. I find i can only listen to Deftones when im in a weird mood - feeling a bit manipulative, angry - f*cked up to be honest. Similar to Knife Prty, as it has the screeches/screams in the background - which i just find adds so much texture to this (and can back up other users points about the song referencing interest in girls). Along with the screeches, chino sings/speaks this song so well - it really makes you think - and those grungy, dirty, distorted guitars. And that thumping bass line representing a heartbeat during the outro of the song. Makes this such an epic song, and such an epic way to end an epic album. Okay, so let me set this up for you. We have a guy, in school. He's not really a popular kid, and gets pushed about alot. He's fed up with this. He hates the way he is treated, and wants to return the feelings to the other kids who push him about. He also likes this chick, but sadly she doesnt take him seriously, and pushes him around too. "I'll stick you a little, Enough, To take your oxygen away" So here we have the line that tells me that this kid is wanting to maybe seriously harm or kill the people that push him around and make his life a hell - and that he would do this by asphyxiation. "Set you on fire, 'cause I'm on fire" He feels its only fair that because he gets beaten up, so should they. "And I'm with you, Alone, I'm so into this whore" Now we learn there is a love interest, and when they are alone he tries to fight how he feels. But he refers to her as a whore, almost talking down about her. Im guessing this is because she pushes him around too - but nonetheless he still really likes her... "Be afraid, I might lose her so forget about me, Because I'll stick you" ...BUT he doesnt want her. Because he is scared, that if he looses her - he will be to angry, and feel she did it because he is not 'worthy' of her. And so he will kill her like everyone else. And so he feels its best for her to 'forget' him. "Pushed back to square, Now that you've kneed her, In the throat, Well there you go" Hes back to square one, but feels like he was pushed back to square one. He feels he has killed any chance (as kneeing someone hard enough in the throat could kill them) of getting with this girl. And the last bit of that (Well there you go) is almost like patrionising him, and saying - well thats what you get for being apprehensive and weak. In other words he's second guessing himself, what would have happened if he got the girl? "Cause back in school, We are the leaders, Of all so transpose, Or stop your life is what you do" This statement, is to say that in school is where you can make these big decisions that can ultimately change your life. "We are the leaders", the leaders of our own fate. And that during school you can reverse things, or stop things from happening. "All you are to me is meat, Now pass the flask" Here he has finally realised he doesnt care about this chick anymore - shes just another girl. And maybe gets drunk to help forget. |
Laura Marling – Darkness Descends Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i think that, this song is about how it feels to go 'insane'. Or the feeling of being 'insane'. Also the music that accompanies Marling's superb lyrics in this song to me represent a form of 'madness'. But as always with Laura's songs, we dont really know what her intentions were when writing this song XD |
Chuck Ragan – Done and Done Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Some words have been missed out, and the first line is incorrect. Heres my transcription Why do we never know Questions come in, answers go Somewhere else besides our head We wear the stripes until we're dead And we only wanna love Spending time here and above Hopelessly devoted of Flesh and blood Until we're done and done Done and done oooooh Reckon now we got to go Somewhere higher's all i know Leave behind the walking dead Leave the mess, dont make the bed And roll right on like a wave Roll and never hesitate Feel more mental and create Something to sing Something to say Oh let it go Cut, loose and roll Rock steady soul Get up stand up Throw your hands up And oh, let it go Cut, loose and roll Rock steady soul Get up stand up Till your done and done Oh why do we never know Questions come in, and the answers go Somewhere else besides our head Wear the stripes son, till we're dead And go right on, like a wave Rolling never hesitate Feel more mental and create Something to sing Something to say Oh let it go Cut, loose and roll Rock steady soul Get up stand up Throw your hands up And oh, let it go Cut, loose and roll Rock steady soul Get up stand up Till we're done and done |
Canibus – U Didn't Care Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i dont usually like rap. but i like this track. Its a funny reply to Eminem's Stan....and well thought out too. I see why so many people say Canibus is a lyrical monster.... OH btw i dont hate eminem, i just dont take his music seriously...i treat it like Wierd Al's, Adam Sandler's, Limp Bizkit's or Bloodhound Gang's music. |
The Cure – Apart Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is one of the tracks that makes the album Wish. I love this and A Letter To Elise, two songs that haunt me when i listen to them.... |
Mumford & Sons – White Blank Page Lyrics | 14 years ago |
What freaks me out the most about your post is that in those 4 short paragraphs you've summed up whats going on in my life currently...have a +1 :) But yes i definitely agree with you on that one |
Mumford & Sons – White Blank Page Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"...creepily reflective of the goings on in my own life. " Dont worry...i heard this song and checked my closet just to see if Marcus Mumford was hiding in there with a pen and notepad. But yeah as Kane92 said it shows a good song if it relates to you somehow |
The Antlers – Kettering Lyrics | 14 years ago |
According to Q Magainze (UK) Issue 12,2009 - This song is about a girl who he loves who has terminal cancer.... :) hope this helps |
Black Stone Cherry – Sunrise Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song, its one of my favourites from the album i feel that he is saying that he is really in love with this girl but shes too stuck up too see that and wont ever realise how much she likes him. Although he is determined to show her. The sunrise bit means that he will never see the sunrise because he feels he will be chasing her forever, and the sunrise marks the end of the day or the end of something. It could also mean it in a romantic way, as the sunrise is a romantic activity, and that he feels that he will never experience that with her. |
Demon Hunter – My Heartstrings Come Undone Lyrics | 14 years ago |
From an aetheist p.o.v. this song is pretty cool, okay i dont believe in their beliefs. But this song was one that i really like from the Christian Rock genre... |
Mae – Suspension Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Is it just me or do these guys really sound like Fountains Of Wayne? |
Dope – Revolution Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Just about how the writer feels the world should be ran, and that he wants a revolution. |
Limp Bizkit – Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeh i admit the songs content is ball....then again, it does make you just wanna get up and dance. And everyone, well most people born in the 90's (due to its popularity in early 2000's when those born in the 90's would be old enough to remember it), knows of it. |
