You Me at Six – Little Bit Of Truth Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Ok I think the first question mark is "I want to write a song that makes you smile, And one that keeps you around for a while, I wish for small things, Like losing this feeling, I've seen this coming, I've seen you leaving." The second is harder, but I think that it is something along the lines of; "I know it's sad to [touch?] some things, that made you feel a little empty." but Touch seems weird, maybe "touch on"? I can't quite get that word and it took me ages even to get to touch so it has great potential to be wrong, but I think the rest of it is right. It's what I hear anyway. Oh and the end of that verse sounds like: "But after a little love that's, that's all I've, that's all I've got." |

"Stop [?] Spin" is "Stories you will spin" |
You Me at Six – Little Death Lyrics | 12 years ago |
It kind of sounds like "We are just the sinners, We condemn to death." but I could be wrong. However I am absolutely sure that it is actually "we are not your lovers, we are not your friends, Fuck what you believe in, Cause this is the end." Other than that, great work on the lyrics :) |
Blue October – Sound Of Pulling Heaven Down Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It might sound incredibly crude compared to all the 'romantic' readings but this song reminds me of sex. Sure it's incredibly romantic sex, epic romance sex if I was to be completely honest. but honestly; "You make the sound of pulling heaven down You brought the rain's romantic pour You make the sound You make the sound Of pulling heaven down" I can't listen to that without thinking of sex. |
OK Go – I Want You So Bad I Can't Breathe Lyrics | 14 years ago |
haha this song reminds me of a mood lighting, wine and the inevitable sex that it leads to. THIS is how you get a girl into bed. |
Sparks The Rescue – Shipwreck Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song. It's basically about a guy that likes a girl who already has a boyfriend but he knows that the boyfriend doesn't give the girl everything that she wants in the relationship but he knows that he can and she sees that he can. So she's trying to have the best of both worlds, have her boyfriend and also get what she's missing from the singer. So he's telling her that it's not going to work, he doesn't want her unless he can have her to himself and if she carrys on seeing her boyfriend his presence is going to tear apart their relationship. I love the lines; "Be afraid, Darling I'm a hurricane, If you shipwreck your love, I will be all the blame" I guess mostly because I have broken up enough relationships in my past, not something that i'm proud of, but this is a great warning song. |
Sparks The Rescue – We Love Like Vampires Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I agree with PurplePanther, it's about a relationship that becomes so revolved around sex that it's all that there is to it. "well i think that i've lost some of my feelings, No, i think it's you that lost some of the meaning" |
You Me at Six – Safer to Hate Her Lyrics | 14 years ago |
thats quite good and literal, i'm no more qualified than you are to comment on the meaning of the lyrics and to be honest you might be right considering that it's all linked back to his past relationship. I just have a few ideas that spring to my mind when i listen to this song. I personally find it to be more bitter and about regret. Almost as if saying that he wishes that he had hated her rather than loved her because it would have been 'safer'. Obviously there was a lot of pain in the break up which is making him question whether loving her was worth it at all. Obviously the whole first verse is about regretting the way that he let the break up happen and I feel like the verse; 'Caught you having a laugh Did you catch me have the last? And I've been smiling like this for days Just to make up for my mistakes In the dark, I watch everyone disappear And I'm beginning to let myself down And I'm pushing everyone that was in, out' Is about him reacting to her after the fact and realising that he is acting petty and bitter but he can't help it because she inspires those feelings inside him and he can't make how he felt about her and how much losing her is affecting him (at the moment) for the worse. This song to me, is about that stage after you end things badly with someone and you still cling to the memory and everything seems to remind you of them and because of that everything hurts. If you've been around someone at this stage than you'll agree that they tend to make terrible company and you can't get through to them that it will all pass. To them it seems like it will never get better and they generally wish things along the lines of "I wish i had never meet her/him". In that reading i think that the line; 'When we die, do we feel alive?' relates to; 'And nobody knows what it's like When we die on the inside And nobody knows what it's like To be one of a kind' And is basically a round-about way of saying; is this really good for us to feel this way?/is it really worth being in love when we're risking getting our hearts broken? kinda like we don't feel good about it so why do we put ourselves through it. Which reflects the thoughts of those people who are going through a tough break up before they realise that they move on and grow as people from it. Like I said, my opinions are no more valid than yours but thats how i see it. |
You Me at Six – Playing the Blame Game Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think that it's more about a couple who are still really into each other but have broken up, maybe because of rumours about the guy cheating, in any sense it seems that they've had their differences, but the girl is keeping him close to her almost as if saying that 'i don't trust you but i love you', either that or a couple that are still together but the girl is keeping him at a distance so that he can't leave and move on and away from her but she's not letting him off the hook so she's almost punishing him for something that he may not have done. "You hold me down by keeping me around, and no one takes me home." "We've got to keep this one together, you're young and in love, that should be enough." |
Quietdrive – Jessica Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The Higher – It's Only Natural Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think that AOA might be angle of attack, or angle of arrival, they're the only two acronyms that seem to make sense. but even then doesn't seem right |
Single File – Miss Cherry Lipgloss Lyrics | 14 years ago |
well this is obvious, It's about a guy who has noticed a girl at a party and thinks she's hot, He's finally decided to go talk to her once she's already drunk and it's basically about beginning a purely physical relationship with her possibly just for the one night. btw LOVE single file! |
Placebo – Every You Every Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree that this song, along with a lot of placebo's lyrics are left intentionally vague so that most people can interpret them in a way that relates to them, and that is half of placebo's charm. This particular song I always associated with drugs, or emotionally unstable teenage relationships. It wasn't until last year that I found a new way to look at it. For me personally this song now talks about falling in love with someone that you're not supposed to. It's about cheating, and it's about making mistakes to get that one person that you want, even if you have to hurt other people along the way. |
