Wow, everyone on here is so cool in a geeky way trying to figure out the meaning of this completely legendary awesome song.... i think the people on the first page were awesomely bang on the dot of trying to work out the meaning and the rest shouldn't have bothered really! haha. this interpretation of the lyrics that i'm about to say may not be correct, but my friend told his meaning and i thought i'd share here:- he said that brandon flowers-- the lead singer-- is a mourmon. this meaning they have really strong feelings about pre marital sex and really frown on it and that you must to be be married before you can have sex. but in this song he writes about pre-marital sex. "coming out of my cage" maybe meaning he's come out of his strict household being the cage- or the cage being his virginity and him losing it. "Gotta gotta be down because i want it all" maybe meaning that now he's had pre marital sex he wants it all over again. "it started out with a kiss how did end up like this? And now im gonna say mine Well- it is definately about adam's break up, i mean it has to be! And so what if it's obvious? Because if its in amazin song- which it is- and has fantastic lyrics and an awesome raw kinda sound and it really means something and when you listen to it, it gets you thinking and feeling, which in my opinion it does, then the obviousness of a song isn't important. i love this song- its one of those "im pissed off at you and im gonna shout at you because your the fucking cause of it bitch!" songs, and... i dunno, its just really amazing, the whole album is actually, it really gives me that kinda vibe which i really love. So well taking back sunday for making a truly awesome album that i will never forget and keep listening to for sure!
