The Killers – Spaceman Lyrics | 15 years ago |
In my opinion, Spaceman to me, seems more political than anything else. but i know i am wrong, haha but look at my perspective. I believe it has to do with the war n GAZA) "It started with a low light Next thing I knew, they ripped me from my bed And then they took my blood type It left a strange impression in my head" (He's speaking in the behalf of the palestinians. Over there, theyre getting kicked out they're own homes, being slaughtered.) "You know that I was hoping That I could leave this star-crossed world behind But when they cut me open I guess I changed my mind" (He was hoping to leave the world in pride, and not die by somebody else. when they wounded him, he changed his mine. Again, i know thats not right.) And you know I might have just flown too far from the floor this time, 'cause they're calling me by my name And they're zipping white light beams Disregarding bombs and satellites (This talks about war, itself. Bombs, satellites. White light = Search Lights.) And that was the turning point That was one lonely night (It changed his life.) The star maker says it ain't so bad The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says "everybody look down it's all in your mind (here are some metaphors. starmaker is israel, hence the star on their flag. Israel, trys to not make a the suffrage of palestinian civilians a big deal in the media. dreammaker is america, home of the brave, where dreams come true. America is silent on this war, and gives ammunition to israel. spaceman, is the almighty, which is god. says, its all in our mind, thats where we can find peace.) But now I'm back at home and I'm looking forward to this life I live You know it's gonna haunt me So hesitation to this life I give ( His pain suffers him. He still has hesitation to life. He's looking forward to life, because he knows it wont be as bad than the past.) You think you might cross over You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea You better look it over Before you make that leap (The devil and the deep blue sea metaphor, means that right now, either countries as well as the whole world doesn't know whose right or wrong in this war. He says they should first analyze deeply befpre making a choice.) And you know I'm fine But I hear those voices at night sometimes And they justify my claim And the public don't dwell on my transmission 'Cause it wasn't televised (The voices, are the civilians who are being tortured. The media, doesn't publiczied the suffrage of the civilians.) But it was a turning point, oh what a lonely night (It's a turning point in history. He's lonely, because of his belief.) My global position systems are vocally addressed They say the Nile used to run from east to west They say the Nile used to run From east to west (He let out his political opinon. The Middle East use to conquer all, east to the west. but now west (america) has taken over the middle east) I'm fine, but I hear those voices at night sometimes (he's okay, but the voices still haunt him) \ |
