Elton John – Amoreena Lyrics | 15 years ago |
bernie taupin was really preoccupied with the romanticized image of the old west in america. (the beatles demonstrated similar inspiration for some of their music.) "Amoreena" is simply a poem set to elton's gorgeous arrangement that paints a picture of a cowboy perhaps, longing for the woman he's in love with. there's a healthy dose of - tasteful - double entendre: "Oh if only I could nestle in the cradle of your cabin/My arms around your shoulders the windows wide and open." everytime i hear that song i can see the apple juice dripping down that raven-haired, tanned body and think about how nice it must to cuddle up next to her in those eiderdown quilts at night. |
