Passafire – Dimming Sky Lyrics 5 years ago
I love this song! I think you might have misheard a couple things, though.

--------------------
I wanna jump on a train,
Take me out of the same old thing.
I wanna feel no pain,
Take me South, further down; take me South, further down.

I wanna jump in a lake,
Take me out to an old blue spring.
I wanna swim in a cave,
Let the water cool me down, let the water cool me down.

All the fish go swimming by; they say goodnight,
And I wish the dimming sky would stay so bright.

I wanna hop on a plane,
To any place with a tire swing,
I wanna home on the range,
Just to keep me on the ground, just to keep me on the ground.

I wanna drive in the rain,
Or in the sun it's all the same.
I wanna step on the breaks,
Hope to let it slow me down, hope to let it slow me down.

While the trucks go speeding past, I'm going all but fast.
Don't have a million bucks for gas so I make it last.
All the clouds go floating by: big, round, and white.
And I wish the dimming sky would stay so bright.

I wanna walk to the store,
Buy me something that I can't afford,
Make a bed on the floor,
With the blankets that I found, with the blankets that I found.

I'll awake in the street,
Reminiscing on a hazy dream, wonder if I'm asleep.
Let the water wake me up, let the water wake me up.
--------------------

Justice – On 'n' On Lyrics 6 years ago
I think the song is about birth, aging, and maturing as well as about a lost love. There are many metaphors relating plants and seasons to life and aging. "Someday the grapes will be wine" is very clear, in my opinion to refer to aging. They also use the grape reference again with, "Come on woman in your own time,Far, far, far from the virgin vine," suggesting that maybe the woman needed some time to get herself together, to structure her life or get her head straight.

It's obvious the singer wants this girl, but is waiting for her to be ready. But as they say, the story goes on and on.... [life keeps on]

Sounds to me like he's in love with a girl who doesn't have time for him.

The "ok" in this line, "I tell you that I could be living Today with you or without you, ok," sounds very sarcastic to me. I don't think he's ignoring the person (or object, although I think it's clearly about a person), I think he's saying he can't really live without them.

Soldiers Of Jah Army – Sorry Lyrics 7 years ago
It's about a guy who isn't gonna change for his woman, nor should he. The girl is angry with the way that he is, and he's being sarcastic in saying, "yea, I'm sorry...I'm sorry for being me."

I think this song is about finding your inner self, realizing who you really are as a person. It could also be about living up to your potential.

It's about being homesick. It's about being away from home and having memories and feelings of your home.

Rebelution – Heart Like a Lion Lyrics 8 years ago
To me, this song is about someone who is too afraid to let their emotions out, someone who is too scared to let people get close. "Some they tell me I'm a fool, a fool who walks this road alone" refers to a person who is alone, without a partner. The song is basically saying if you are all alone because you can't let people get close to you, you need to change before it's too late because life is too short.

Kid Cudi – Day 'n' Nite (Nightmare) Lyrics 8 years ago
You guys are getting stuck too deep in the whole "lonely stoner" thing. I think the "lonely stoner" is just an adjective for whoever this song is about (Cudi himself?). I really don't think this song has anything to do with drugs or drug use. I interpret this song to be about a person who thinks way too much. His thoughts only bring more pain because he is so lonely, depressed, feeling isolated. Everything the person wants seems out of reach. Any girl he is into doesn't feel the same way, which just drops him further into his pit of desperation.

I don't know how many of you reading this have ever been there, but for some people, who really think into things and analyze everything(I'm there and it sucks), their thoughts bring so much pain, and they are going through so much garbage in their lives at the moment that they cannot wait until they fall asleep, because it is the only relief they get from their minds.

Don't get caught up on drug references in songs. A small reference doesn't always mean that is what the entire song is about.

Anyway, this is probably my unfortunate anthem right now. I hope nobody else is going through anything like this, and from the lack of similar interpretations, although there are two or three, it doesn't seem that many people understand the depth of the song. Although this is just my opinion and I could be completely wrong. idk.

Haddaway – What Is Love Lyrics 9 years ago
Why does everyone think the guy is doing something wrong? Sometimes that's just the way it works. You can like someone a lot and they might not feel the same way about you. It's not anything you(he) did wrong (it's not that he's not being himself, or being obsessed), but it just works that way sometimes.

This song is depressing.

I kind of think he's saying fate is in your hands. What you make up in your mind can become fate if you make it so.

I think this song is about the ending of one chapter in your life and the feelings it bring... Graduating high school or college and realizing that everything is gonna change. I think it's about that humble and torturing feeling when an amazing day/event is coming to a close. Somehow I doubt it's about leaving a bar. Think metaphors.

I don't think it has anything to do with religion. When I hear crosses on our eyes, I think of X'd out eyes, like in cartoons/drawings. The rest of it is too much of a stretch to do with religion. I like the crystal meth theory, seems logical and legit. the thing with "children" in the song, to me, is talking about "kids"/"teens"/"children"/"young adults"...semantics, its all the same thing depending on your perspective/relativity. If you are really old, you might call 18 year olds children.

I see "I'll catch that train eventually" as finding that one true love that will work out.

I don't get that at all. To me it is about a guy who never gets the girl. He really likes certain girls, but a relationship never manifests, or she's not into him. ("only thing I've ever loved was...does she know my name, does it mean a thing?") and if something doesn't change then he will never get the girl (if my luck don't change I'll probably be the last one standing")
