What I meant, was: it's a wonderful song, obviously. But it seems to me that it's about a relationship that doesn't quite want to end. (my lips are bleeding from kissing you goobye, kissing you goodbye every night). And he's hurting and isn't able to "stand his ground" to the point where it SEEMS he doesn't care. But still he wants to be with her (my heart is pounding, yes, yes, yes), but he doesn't think it's right (my mind just second guess). I'm unsure about the whole "my love is so articulate, i am such a mess" line. It sounds so beautiful, but I'm not sure what he means. Maybe that his love, in his heart, is very articulate and he knows exactly what he feels and what he wants, but himself is a mess, and can't say or show it properly? Maybe I'm portraying too much of my own emotions and experiences into this. Either way it's a wonderful song. |

This song is so wonderful. One of Dylan's best (not that I'm particulary knowledgable about Dylan's songs, but this one is amazing anyhow). I love how it's so simple, but still so strong. And I also love that they used this song for the opening title of Watchmen. It's perfect. And I also love that they used the original version and didn't lete anybody cover it. It's simply perfect and give me goosebumps every damn time! I love the "come mothers and fathers" verse. It describes the way I'm feeling right now, as I just turned 18, very well. "Don't critisize what you can't understand, your sons and daughters are beyond your comand, your road is rapidly aging, please get out of the new one if you cant lend a hand" It's definitivly about change, in any shape or form I think. I think this song is pretty open to very indivdual interpretation. People's lives will dictate what they think it's about, which is great. I love songs that can mean a million different things to a million different people. |

It's a really good song. I agree with the interpitations above. She sounds really vulnerable on this track, and I really like that since she always comes off as so tough and such. It's nice to hear her more vulnerable. Think this and Who Knew are my favorites of that album. |

You can make the song your own and connect it to your own experiences and your own heartaches or relationships or whatever you think fits. This song is so great. I love it very much. To me it's about falling in love with a person and both of them cause each other harm without meaning to do so. And they love each other regardless of this (you are my sweetest downfall) and they try to leave but always come back and everything is sweet and wonderful for a while (Samson came to my bed, told me that my hair was red, told me I was beautiful) Well yes...that's what it's means to me anyway xD |

I'm not that fond of Nirvana. I have never gotten the big deal with them. They weren't that special and such, but I really love this song. It's brilliant. The lithium theory sounds pretty much right to me. About someone being kind of crazy. I also think the one who's singing it, is lying in a way "I shaved my head and I'm not sad" "I cant' wait to meet you there, and I don't care" Like he means the opposite of what he's saying in a way. That he actually is sad and scared and that he does care? o.0 Am I the only one who get that impression?? xD |

I love this song. I've had it on repeat for hours now and yeah thought I'd comment. I love how it's... kinda childish in a way y'know? It fits. I like how she just says "fuck bush and fuck war" like..if we mean something truly, I don't think we should wrap it up in big words so that the meaning isn't as powerful as it is meant, y'know? Just say it. Fuck Bush and fuck war =] Well...that was my opinion of it anyway. I think we should be young at heart and stand up for what we believe in and sort of childish in a way. I think it fits, and this song is brilliant and I've totally fallen in love with the Juno Soundtrack (which is where I heard the song first) and I'm so gonna check out some more of her stuff ^_^ |

I know most of Michael Bublé's songs are covers, but he does them so brilliantly, and he's so talented. I just love his voice. I love the way he made this song all slow and gaah. I just love it. I'm so glad he didn't completely fuck it up like Pet Shop Boys did. No offense to them, they have their style of music, just their version of this song makes me want to barf. I always felt like this was from whoever was hurting's point of view... durrr.. I mean like. From the one with low self-esteem and not the one trying to make that person feel better. I never saw it as about anorexia...until I saw the video obviously. But yeah.. especially the first verse I feel is all about someone telling this person that they are beautiful and perfect just as they are, but they just can't believe it. "Tell me what I should believe, I didn't know it was broken" A great song though. I haven't listened to the old version so much.. I'll be sure to do that now =) |
