Brett Anderson – Funeral Mantra Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Such a depressing, melodious song.. It's so full of sound and smell. I wonder if Brett plays this song in the churches where he now gives concerts. The final words give some hope, but it's tinged with loneliness. |
Tata Young – Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
A girl (or a person, for that matter) can do whatever and whomever she wants with their consent. The problem I have with this song is that the singer comes off as very arrogant and, well bitchy about it. This line, for example, "I'm a 180 to the stereotype girls like staying home and being innocent" seems to imply: I am not like those dumb innocent girls, I am BETTER than them because I openly like sex. I know this is just bubblegum pop, with quite a catchy tune and all, but the implied better-than-you message is irritating. |
Placebo – My Sweet Prince Lyrics | 15 years ago |
//Never thought you'd fuck with my brain// This is such a jarring line - in a good way :) I like it when quiet songs like that break the trance in some way or another. By the way, check this awesome Interview with the Vampire video made with this song(not mine): http://youtube.com/watch?v=eOaT2cfAAMg |
The Sisters of Mercy – Ribbons Lyrics | 15 years ago |
''I'm lying on my back now The stars look all too near Flowers on the razor wire I know you're here'' This verse seems to suggest either the recalling of bittersweet memories (flowers on the razor wire) during a moment of introspection or even, on the verge of death (the stars look all too near). Anyway, the exact meaning of the song as a whole is unclear to me, what I can be certain about are the feelings this song evokes to me, which are, a feeling of "loved-and-lost", "loved-and-hurt", a feeling of being threatened, of fruitless effort, of desperate reminiscing... My favorite line is "Love is a many splintered thing". I think it means that love can be in many ways hurtful. |
The Sisters of Mercy – Dominion/Mother Russia Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I like how they shout "Dominion!".. it's very much like a political chant leading people to war. |
Marilyn Manson – If I Was Your Vampire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Am I the only one who heard the line: Lie cheek to cheek in your cold embrace as Lie check to check and your condom breaks? |
