CeeLo Green – Fuck You Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Amen man! Got screwed over by a girl I was head over heels for and learned my lesson. An awesome song that has definitely given me my smile back and a little bit of that swagger in my step. :) |
Peter Broderick – And It's Alright Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree. The simple lyrics bounded together with the amazing voice and the slow tempo lends this song as one that someone can hear after a hard day and feel rejuvenated. It's like he's reminding us by repeating, "It's alright" that everything is OK and not to worry. Man. This is the type of song I love to hear to alone while walking at night. :) |
Peter And The Wolf – The Highway Lyrics | 15 years ago |
For me I always think of people resettling after an apocalyptic event. All the survivors using the highways to move about and to relocate and then to rebuild their lives. Btw, how come the lyrics haven't been fixed yet? |
The Streets – On the Edge of a Cliff Lyrics | 15 years ago |
What a great song. I had been fascinated by The Streets for a while and every song that I have heard has had an important message that dusts away the confusion in my head. Today I heard this song and I had chills running up spine, really. "For billions of years since the outset of time Every single one of your ancestors survived Every single person on your mum and dad's sides successfully looked after and passed onto you life What are the chances of that, like?" This hit me hard. I sat there just imagining all of those people who lived their lives and passed down their knowledge, happiness, sadness and wisdom so that I could be alive and well. How could I waste this gift? It is a powerful saying and the thoughts that are unleashed by those simple words are profound. We are all unique and blessed in a sense that our ancestors survived to allow us to be. What are the chances of that! Please go and tell folks this. Repeat these great profound words to those depressed and troubled. :) |
Anthrax – Safe Home Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I feel like it's all about finding someone be it a friend, comrade, lover, or anyone else who is your support who strives to keep you on your feet and you look up to them. Powerful song. Man you gotta love when the guitars kick up near the end so tantalizing. :) |
Aesop Rock – None Shall Pass Lyrics | 15 years ago |
@ issgonrain Funny you mention Gandalf and his cane. Everytime I listen to this song I can't help but imagine Gandalf driving a car rapping with the Hobbits in the back singing the chorus with Gimli, Legolas, Boromir, and Aragorn jumping in every now and then. :) |
The Tallest Man on Earth – It Will Follow the Rain Lyrics | 15 years ago |
If anyone sees any lyrical goofs please do point them out. :) |
The Tallest Man on Earth – Into the Stream Lyrics | 15 years ago |
@tomStrangelove I caught some goofs not big ones but some that are inconsistent. 1) In the second block, line #5 :"and redirect this"...you don't really need the "this" in this line as it is already in the next one. 2) In the fourth block, line #1: " Our dog dog will drink"...you have an extra "dog" should be just one. 3) In the fifth block, line #1: "But we'l see"...should be "we'll" you are missing the last "l" in that word. 4) In the sixth block, line#4: "when we killed her sound"...should be "when we killed the sound". All in all you did a great job just gotta fix those little goofs. :) |
Marvin Gaye – Let's Get It On Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Baby what can I say but, "Oooooh Yeah!" What a song! :D |
Louis Armstrong – What A Wonderful World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
What a beautiful song it's touching and warm. Yet, one can't help but feel the irony that many here have also voiced about how the song just conjures up images of suffering, pain and war all over the World. I think this irony also helps us realize a bit about ourselves and our World and how we can try doing the right thing and help each other to fix it. Maybe one day we'll have a World (100's of years in the future perhaps) like the one Louis Armstrong sang of. I hope one day mankind will live up to this song. Either way, on my death bed I'd love to have this song playing next to me while I sit by the window. My last days on Earth I hope to go with a smile on my face. :) |
Johnny Cash – The Man Comes Around Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'm not a religious fellow myself...more of an Agnostic really, however, this song is the only song I'll play when the World ends on high end stereos on the roof tops. A fitting song to watch the World go *Kapoof* all around you. I heard this song in the movie "The Hunted" it didn't really fit there but it was my first taste to this song and like many of you I saw it played along with Dawn of the Dead and I agree...this song fits with it so well. Johnny Cash you great man you! Thanks for this song! :D |
Jem – Come On Closer Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Fine Young Cannibals – She Drives Me Crazy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ah, I remember this song so much. Every time I hear it I just want to sing along as loud as I can. She drives me crazy OH OH! :D |
A Northern Chorus – Remembrance Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song. As a Canadian I feel as if this talks about all the men who died to protect my homeland and what Canada stands for. Freedom, love and peace. Every time I hear this song I just feel so humbled by all those who lost their lives to do good. Note: In the first line instead of "I'll replace a line, we'll launch it straight into the fire." I think it should rather be "Find a place in line, we’re marching straight into the fire ." After all that would make alot more sense. |
Throw Me The Statue – About To Walk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Double dreams tend to ?" I think it sounds a lot like "ends in rows"? Or, "ends in blood". It's pretty hard to hear him say that clearly. Oh well. I'm hoping that with their CD out they'll have lyrics written in it! :D |
Iron & Wine – Upward Over the Mountain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think every son and his mother share a special bond and this song just personally resounds so strongly of this. It is said that in any man's life that he will truely only love three women in his lifetime, his mother, his wife and daughter. No matter where I am when I listen to this song I suddenly feel sad and want to talk to my mother and say how much I love her. The song is representing so much about life in terms we all will understand from the pups and the blood to the attempts to make our mothers happy with the new shoes. I always tear up whenever I play this song. Mothers always seem to have the ability to forgive and give selfless love to their children and in this song you can see how he pleads and asks his mother to not worry and not to fear what happens. Such a powerful song. Every guy I've given this song to listen to always get choked up or thoughtful. We're all reminiscing the days of joy, happiness, and safety we all felt with our mothers. A truly awesome song to listen to and contemplate the past and future. Call your mothers or buy some flowers. Mums are the best. |
Wintersleep – Weighty Ghost Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I feel as if the song is about a man feels as if he is disjointed from the World and his surroundings and starts questioning it. He begins to question the veracity of himself and how he feels. An awesome song. |
Band of Horses – Is There a Ghost Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I believe the ghost could be the relationships, friends, family and so on that have left. We've all felt a lingering presence of people. Perhaps, I'm just thinking to metaphorically. For he may sure be singing of an actual ghost in his house. Either way, this is such a simple song, yet, it resonates so many things. I guess it depends on how you are feeling and what you are going through when you hear this song. That's what makes this song so great. |
José González – Down the Line Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I can't help but feel that this is a song of sadness, yet, at the same time one of redemption. It's as if he's singing this to a friend/or the listener who is going through a hard time and he's retelling their problems, how they made mistakes, their attempts to solve them and then finally he says to not worry. It makes me think of when he says,"I see problems down the line, I know that I'm right." He's a person looking ahead and knows things are going bad as if out of experience he's seeing it again and again. Then when he says,"Doing the same mistake twice..." As if he knows it's that this problem he has to deal with he can't do anything but the same solution which maybe wrong. The end when he says,"Don't let the darkness eat you up." Is as if he's saying to his friend/listener not to let all the depression and darkness looming over us to take over. I can't believe how simple the lyrics are yet they are so moving. Every person goes through a darkness and he's singing to us not to let it take over us. I try hard yet fail miserably sometimes this song really does make me feel teary-eyed yet by the end of it I feel strong, happy and most of all less anxious about the future. Great song. |
