I love songs that can bring any sort of emotion out of me, but this one is just too hard to listen to. I immediately deleted it off my ipod after I first heard it, not because it's a horrible song, but it's just far too much of a touchy subject for me, since my mother suffered from cancer recently. Although it's a sad song, it doesn't even begin to symbolize just how hard it is to watch a loved one slowly deteriorate from this horrible disease.

On the topic of "selling out" : ivoisawesome, i think you're right when you say it means that you change to get more famous, or make more money, or whatever. BUT. How is it that blink-182 changed to become more famous.... did anyone ever consider that maybe, their taste in music changed? or that their style of writing changed a little?
just because a band changes, doesn't mean they sold out. It means they're progressing, and it's a good thing. what's the point of a band who keeps making the same music over and over?

This song is awesome, especially the line
"I listen to you talk, but talk is cheap, and my mouth is filled with blood from trying not to speak."
I think this part represents the feeling you get when you go through a breakup or argument of some sort, and everyone hears the side of the story that makes you seem like the bad guy. Everyone likes to assume stuff when they don't even actually know what happened.
I like the part where he says "let's burn down something beautiful" too, because I don't care what anyone says, I think blink 182 was one of the best bands out there and the friendship they had definitely was something beautiful.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I don't think this song is as amazing as anything from Kezia. When I read the lyrics, I really have no idea what it's about. I'm hoping the rest of the new album is better than this. |
