I take this song as an ambiguous, I wish we could be at peace kinda thing. I'm not sure. 'Is the new world risin, from the shambles of the old?' or 'If we could just join hands' (and be at peace) Thats what it sends me. |

Well first of all, lets make this clear. Nixon didn't start Nam. That was Kennedy who first sent troops. So uh... get your facts straight. And second, I seem to take this song differently than the rest of you. I think he's saying he's proud to go to war, and he's dissing draftcard-burning pansy liberals. Just my opinion though. |
