Kate Nash – Habanera Lyrics 14 years ago
It's the cello line to the aria "Habanera" from Bizet's opera, Carmen, but I get what you mean - the same staccato rhythm.

Lacuna Coil – Purify Lyrics 16 years ago
I wholeheartedly agree with Acetica. This song is about self-renewal. It reflects the emotional stress of picking yourself back off from where you left off and moving forward as though the past were nothing, while still embracing that past. It shows that all parts of ourselves are necessary; they are all parts of who we are and shape us as people. The title is as powerful as the lyrics: Wiping yourself clean of all anxiety.

Frankly, I just don't see how this song could be immediately connected with a relationship. I mean, a lot of songs can come across that way at first, but I honestly don't see the link. I did however manage to connect this song with the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ, though, so I suppose I've got no room to talk.

Paramore – Never Let This Go Lyrics 17 years ago
Okay. Before I begin my analysis, there are two ritualistic steps I must go through with.
Firstly, Hayley Williams is a goddess.
Secondly, this song is a miracle performed by said goddess.
~~~
Now, I believe that this song is more or less about confessing adoration for someone else.
"Maybe if my heart stops
beating it won't hurt this much
And never will I have to
answer again to anyone"--This probably has to do with just dropping the issue altogether. If the protagonist does, then she won't ever have to "answer to anyone again." She won't have to go through the stress of admitting it.
"Please don't get me wrong
because I'll never let this go,
but I can't find the words to tell you
I don't wanna be alone,
but now I feel like I don't know you"--Probably a statement of reassurance, both to herself and the object of interest o.O;; She doesn't necessarily want to keep things the way they are, but she just doesn't know how to get her feelings out. (A situation a lot of us are probably familiar with)
"one day you'll get sick of saying that everything’s alright
and by then I’m sure I'll be pretending just like I am tonight
please don't get me wrong"--She knows that he knows, and that there'll be a point where he'll stop denying that she's interested. Of course, she's convinced that by that time, she'll still be convinced herself that she's not interested.
The "Let this go, let this go" is most likely a bit of regret.
Yeah, I know, I'm high. It's the meth. Gotta love the meth....
But yeah, deep down inside, I always hoped this song was about me =)
Good Charlotte – The Truth Lyrics 17 years ago
quick round of applause for GC....
This song was the only thing that got my dad to let me play GC in the car, so thanks, guys, thanks so much.
Well, it used to be that I just listened to the song and got bored by the seemingly monotonous lyrics. But once I got older, I got into it more, and I'm really touched by this song. As most of you guys said before, it's prob'ly about a breakup in which the second person is hiding something.
Paramore – Emergency Lyrics 17 years ago
First off, for such a young band, these kids know how to rock. I still find it funny that my friend calls them "The Pennsylvania Band From Tennessee."(inside joke)
Anywho, This song has always called out to me as more of a statement about most relationships: They always fail because of a lack of communication or apathy. (i.g. "I've seen love die way too many times
when it deserved to be alive", "it's really not your fault, No one cares to talk about it", "And you do your best to show me love...So are you listening? So are you watching me?")
Whole song pretty much sums up my current relationship with my dad.
But that won't change the fact that this band can only get better. Nor does the fact that Hayley's hot. If only I weren't four years younger. :(
Fall Out Boy – Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today Lyrics 17 years ago
This song... It's amazing. Downloaded it just now, heard it for the first time today and it blew my mind
The whole refrain kinda reminded me of this girl I liked, and though she had a boyfriend, she never told me, allowing me to watch from, afar as she ignored my existence. Kinda pissed me off, and it'd be really great if she drove off a bridge right about now.
That last 3 and a half minutes was perhaps the most eye-opening moment of my life, so thanks FOB for making some kick ass music.
