I think it's about an obsession with sex with a particular girl. I don't think that it's he "can't get enough of her" as in he loves her, but I don't think it's that he can't get enough of sex in general, like with just anyone. Maybe it's something like he was obsessed with sex and would have done it with anyone but now he's met this one girl and he can't stop thinking about sex with her. Maybe it was special or something. Or maybe it's the beginning of more romantic feelings but he's not used to that. I do not know. I love the song though. It has become my obsession, hehe. |

I think I see this kind of differently. I don't think she does just want to be "shagged". I think she genuinely likes the guy but wishes that love could be more simple. I also don't get "touched" to mean anything more sinister than the guy putting his arms around her and what not. It's just with the references she makes in her other songs (she often talks of a very simple form of love, such as in "Birds"), Kate Nash seems to represent innocence rather than a "Fuck me now Bitch!" sort of attitude. Her songs take me back to when I was about 13 or 14, and I liked it better then. Anyways, maybe I'm wrong, but meh. =] Just wanted to give a slightly different perspective. |

I do believe Scissor Sisters totally changed the meaning of this song just by changing the speed and sounds and shit. To me anyway. I'm not a total Pink Floyd song but I gave it a listen when I realised the Scissor Sisters version was a cover. To me, the Floyd version sounds more metaphorical of a person being like a drug and taking away somebody's pain, whereas the SS version sounds more like a person has been injured and is being injected with a drug. Haha. I dunno. I lurve the Scissor Sisters and this song. And if you don't I don't know why you are in commenting on them in the first place. |

i stumbled upon this song quite by accident on my brothers itunes and gave it a listen because it had the same name as the postal service song turned out it was just a different version i love how different they both are, which makes it hard, in my opinion, to choose between them this version almost makes me cry its torturingly beautiful i think this is about lovers when they are together everything is great, theyre on top of the world but other people want them to come down off their pedestals so to speak but everythings not as great as others think cause the girls keeps going away (whether literally or metaphorically, in the sense of breaking up with him for a while, im not sure) so when they are together they make the most of being at those "great heights" something like that anyway |
