Taking Back Sunday – Carpathia Lyrics

This song is phenomenal. I love the Titanic link, but I think it is mostly about his break-up with Chauntelle (perhaps he is comparing their relationship to Jack and Rose from the Titanic?). He makes a comment that they lived "in separate houses". This makes me think that he means that they grew up in different economic statues, similar to how Jack was from the poor lower class and Rose was upper class. I don't understand the "I was a tower and you were an airplane" though. Can anyone decipher that one?
Also, I do not see any comparison between this and "sugar skull". |

Sounds like they are showing their dislike for mainstream media and want fans just to give up on trying to get them on the radio.
I am not sure I get the "I need a Jesus" though. |

I love this song. You really can hear how desperate he is to find a new outlet for his "love". He is just reaching out to have someone, something. |

I really like this song. I like the fact that he is standing up against corporate America and the "advertsing kings" who feed us "bullshit" as a part of their hidden agendas. |

I love this song. I have been reading through other comments about this new CD, and I have to say, I really disagree with everyone. After a few days of listenting to this CD, I love it as much as I do the last two. It has a great sound to it, there are a lot of different styles presented, and the lyrics are just as catchy.
It seems to me that it is about death and possibly suicide as well. I am anxious to hear what others have to say as well. |

I think this song is all about money. The singer is trying to get his parents to stop worrying about money and focus on more important things in life. |

I would also love to know what this is a second part to.
This is a great song, and it really makes you feel like you were in the relationship that went sour. I love when he describes how it is "rolling off your lips, tensing up yours shoulders". |

I definitely think this song is about John and Shaun.
"I had a better friend in my worst of plans
Than I ever had in either one of you."
Another great song on this album. I love this album just as much as Tell All Your Friends. |

This is my favorite song on their WYWTB album. I love the background music, and as usual, there is so much emotion put into the song. Taking Back Sunday is by far one of the best bands playing today. |

I love when he says, "You've got this silly way of keeping me on the edge of my seat."
I agree that John Nolan is overated. Their next two cds are just as good and I will forever love Taking Back Sunday. |
