Beck – Lost Cause Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm tired of fighting. I'm tired of fighting. It's really awful what has happened. It's so terrible. But it's his life. So who really knows. It's a really sad situation. |
Jenny Lewis – Melt Your Heart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song means a lot to me personally. She has had a lot of experience and a lot of heartache. I thought it said numb your hear for the longest time. Knowing that it says something else really doesn't change the meaning though. Melting can be good and bad. I don't think it's a good thing. I think the melting referred to in this song is uncontrollable for her and it gives her a very uncomfortable but familiar feeling. it's really really sad. |
Camera Obscura – Books Written for Girls Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is the deal. This girl really liked this boy. He had all of these habits, and beliefs, and ideas that could be deemed both good and bad. "He prides himself on being a man of the world..." That really says everything there is to know about this guy. She probably has gotten hurt. She knew it was coming though. He will dissapoint you. She is confused, but it's okay. She thinks separation is okay. She knows it wasn't that good of an idea to begin with. |
Camera Obscura – Dory Previn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's very difficult to put someone out of one's mind even if the feelings and thoughts for him/her do not hold any affection. It's just habit and not obsession, but something else. It's a very tough thing to do. |
Rilo Kiley – A Town Called Luckey Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Is Tim Kasher singing in w/Jenny in this song? P.S. This song is super great. I'm glad I found it. |

Neva Dinova – Tripped Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is what this song means to me not jake bellows: this guy just got stuck in this horrible rut, and had no clue what the fuck was going on or what to do. whatever it was, it was his life, and he could only see this one messed up path. it was easier to stay here, than to try and work his way out of it. trying to try was not worth it. it's really sad. he is in a lot of pain, and i think he's definetly in anguish and it's pathetic. i love it when he says, "Crosshairs on, something's wrong I shouldn't try to try. And baby it's the beer that's smiling, it ain't me. Point me at the door 'cause I've been trying to leave." i can relate. |
Elliott Smith – Abused Lyrics | 17 years ago |
okay, this song makes me feel so incredibly low. it's a great song, but i hate that this happened to elliott, and i guess it's good that he expressed it in this song, but it makes me so sad. i love elliott. i really do. and when i hear songs like this, it just makes me really angry. like, he shouldn't have had to deal deal with this, and no one should. it's a really great song. the meaning and emotion in every single line just crushes my though. it is too sad. |
Wilco – Reservations Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is definetly about depression in one way or another. Jeff Tweedy once said, "“I’ve failed. I’ve let the band down. I sound like the most depressed person in the world.” This album was made during this time in his life. It's really sad, because he doesn't love this girl. He can't. He can't be close or intimate with her. He tries to pretend he is, but it's just a joke, or a lie. He has reservations about everything because he has no idea what the hell he's doing. He's so uncertain about himself that, until he figures that part of his life out, nothing makes sense. I like this song. I saw them once, but they never performed it live. |
Badly Drawn Boy – The Shining Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i wish more people would write what they thought this song meant. while the lyrics may be very beautiful, what on earth do they mean? i like what one user said about it being about him dying. it sounds very plausable. I think in the first verse he's saying that his girl is pleading with God. her faith drowns out any morbid thoughts in her head. i think he may be sick. it doesn't have to be about death though. it is very sad. i love the trumpet/trombone? and the cello |
Mason Jennings – Which Way Your Heart Will Go Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'd have never seen your face This world would be a different place So many dreams do not play out the way we would like them to, for better or worse, but they are a reality which is faced. I'd like to think he's grateful his dreams didn't come true, because if they had he would not have met this person, whoever it is. This person changed him. It could be interpreted as a song not about love at all, but of course I like to think that is. I love it. |
Mason Jennings – Jesus Are You Real Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Are you just a word I use when I don't understand?" Out of all of the questions, this has to be the best. |
Rilo Kiley – Capturing Moods Lyrics | 17 years ago |
well, this song is very reassuring, but more than that, it puts the most optimistic view on real life situations. I don't know. She makes it sound silly that a person would ever even have such serious worries. That get's me. I love it. |
The Good Life – Under a Honeymoon Lyrics | 18 years ago |
While this song is great, one single line makes it: "ACTING and ReActing, and acting and reacting" Kasher's voice...! |
