The Smiths – This Charming Man Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Pulp – Party Hard Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song sounds kind of like it belongs more on different class..then again Pulp is Pulp. cool song |
Amy Winehouse – Just Friends Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i can relate to this. for me this song is about a girl who knows this guy she loves dearly as a friend, but for some reason they cant their hands off eeach other. He has a girlfriend, and she doesnt want to lose the friendship. she wishes they could just hang out without ending up hooking up. maybe im just seeing it though my own situation, but this is what i think of. |
Underworld – Born Slippy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i live in australia, and i dont have that whole soho club bar thing going, but i experienced something that made me get it ive always been aware of this song, but awhile ago i was at a friends house and everyone was drunk and on various substances, and someone was watching trainspotting and this song came on..and i was like fuck, i undertsand. it all made sense. it was an epiphany in the highest sense. and i just kept rewinding and dancing to this song crazily over and over until i went down and stayed down. it was brilliant. and so this song is evocative of everything it should be. drink, drugs, people and going nuts because you dont give a shit anymore |
Jellyfish – Brighter Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is the cleverest most amazing song i have ever been fortunate enough to hear. its just..wow. it sort of evokes this sense of a joyous celebration of black irony. the kind of thing that makes you smirk, and feel extatic and depressed at the same time. i dont even know where to start with deciphering the lyrics, sorry. i just needed to ramble |
Jellyfish – Sebrina, Paste And Plato Lyrics | 16 years ago |
classic jellyfish with its cute tune and sarcastic lyrics to go with |
Jellyfish – Joining a Fan Club Lyrics | 16 years ago |
does anyone know if this song is directed at a particular star? i feel like it represents that feeling of mysticism and power one feel when you get obseesed with a supertar enigma. the irony is that thugh you might feel your support is incredibly powerful, it really doesnt mean a thing |
Jellyfish – Glutton of Sympathy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
its the person who everyone pities. |
Jellyfish – She Still Loves Him Lyrics | 16 years ago |
well this seems to be about a couple that have hoped to have their happily ever after - but he's unhappy and as a result abuses her, doesnt even care anymore.. and she just takes it, remembering the better days |
Pixies – Vamos Lyrics | 16 years ago |
uh...couldnt disagree more! i love the weird time signature, and that crazy riff santiago does after the 'chorusey' bits. its nuts. this song is so ELECTRIFYING what i dont get is, when he talks about keeping well bred, is he talking about him an his sister? that would make sense..in true pixies not-making-logical sense way. theyve mentioned incest before anyways. |
Ben Folds – Get Your Hands Off My Woman Lyrics | 16 years ago |
man i love listening to ben doing all the crazy high bits. funky. espoecially the first few lines. they rock |
Ben Folds – Songs Of Love (Divine Comedy cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Ben Folds – The Inherent Violence of Badminton Lyrics | 16 years ago |
LOL. never heard this song. wheres it from? |
Rufus Wainwright – The Consort Lyrics | 16 years ago |
awww one of the sweetest songs on poses. it seems its seems its describing the support a man can give a young woman to be strong, in whatever situation that may be. other maybe it really is just about an actual hired consort, preaching to his charge to just let go. but maybe not. |
Jeff Buckley – Forget Her Lyrics | 16 years ago |
all of his songs are incredible..but this song seems to really hit home emotionally. the desperation, the anger, that sadness he sings it with forces the listener to understand..thats a rare gift in a musician. i guess it pretty much speaks for itself. its about trying and know you have to get over someone, being angry about what they did to, and yet still... |
Jellyfish – Bedspring Kiss Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is so..sultry. i love how it makes all the issues (drugs, murder) and gives it a really sexy aura. wow. jellyfish are awesome, yes? |
Noisettes – The Count Of Monte Christo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i see the led zep thing. mm love this song. i like the bit where the guitar stops and its just the two singing a harmony. thats so well done. what a talent |
Susanna And The Magical Orchestra – Love Will Tear Us Apart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the original version by joy division was almost uncoverable. somehow shes taken that song and done this amazing version. tottally opposite in that its minimalistic, slow, light textures, and of course sung by a female. and yet shes revived the emotion, extending it and making it an even more powerful song. one of the best covers of any song ever |
Elliott Smith – Miss Misery Lyrics | 17 years ago |
its really weird, i love understanding what songs are saying, but for some reason i just dont really understand this song. it just dosent process. the thing just just really sticks is the chorus, which i cant help but think is: do you miss me? (do you) miss misery? like a person has become so used to being miserable, being happy dosent feel comfortable anymore, they just want to be depressed |
Travis – Beautiful Lyrics | 17 years ago |
isnt the line "But when you spoke my heart sank" ? That would fit better with the words. it seems hes talking about pretty people, but with no real personality or intelligence "The light is on but no one's home" basically means that. and when his heart sant hes dissapointed because they arent really interesting at all, haha its funny because this song is so sweet but the lyrics are so opposite |
Jeff Buckley – Witches' Rave Lyrics | 17 years ago |
'he sounds like an angel drunk on lust. " nice way to put it! he sounds like like hes 'in lust' dosent he? he has a heap of sexual desire ruling him and this witches rave? perhaps a metaphor for how hes feeling? |
Miriam Stockley – Perfect Day Lyrics | 17 years ago |
what a beautiful song. makes me shiver. pretty self explanatory though |
Snow Patrol – Chocolate Lyrics | 17 years ago |
chocolate is a guilty pleasure. yeah? |
Pixies – Mr. Grieves Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song. love it. especially when he says "hope everything is alright" for the first time. its sounds so ironic and sarcastic |
Ben Folds – Not The Same Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Its where religion and drugs meet back on the other side" HAH. thats what h says on the live track, i though it was funny. |
Ben Folds – Not The Same Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Its where religion and drugs meet back on the other side" HAH. thats what h says on the live track, i though it was funny. |
Ben Folds – Bastard Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ohhhh..thanks velocity. reading this page has really changed the song for me. i always thought it was about an old man, and the lines 'Tears land on a hand on the chest The old bastard had a paradigm arrest' meant that everyone had thought he was an old bastard but then he had some medical attack and they realised how much they loved him...hence the tears. BUT now i know better. i liked my version though heh |
Ben Folds – Gracie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the "you will always have a part of me bit" i always imagined that it was that she sort of had a part of him, like a place in his heart where she will always be. can you just see been smiling watching his little girl play? it makes me feel so happy and teary |
Ben Folds – Prison Food Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wil555 took the words right out of my mouth, i completely agree. prison food is exactly what this song is about except theyre talking about life instead. except maybe its not exactky about a girl who is depressed, its about the singer knowing the world is bad, and trying to protect, or distract the girl from this I can tell you about the little things So you don't think about the big things for a while possibly. dont attack me if im wrong. but it seems the sing is having a much bigger problem with feeling blue than the person he's "talking" to. A trace of me, it floats in my periphery And every time I turn to see it goes yeah.. |
Ben Folds Five – Narcolepsy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeh!! im all for the second half of the people. i get this real feeling of a guy turning off his emotions, just like some one turns themself off by going to sleep. id say its not the obvious meaning for narcolepsy because of the lines i know you don't know what i mean |
Ben Folds – Carrying Cathy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
does anyone know what the line she worried it might come to life means? (reffering to her window) |
Ben Folds – The Ascent Of Stan Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i agree with most of what is being said i think he (stan) used to be a really motivated young man, he really wanted to make a difference, stan: once you wanted revolution but now age, (and maybe a sort of war) had wearied him and he has become very conformed Stan: now your the institution and it sounds as if is sort of important, but hes not happy with where he is Stan: How’s it feel to be the man? It’s no fun to be the man the song i think is about irony about how hed never had thought hed be where he is, and though he used to be so motivated now he is "resigned". alsowhen that strange country music kicks in i think it feel like the music is being ironic, and sort of taunting stan. but yeh i love this song i thing it captures a sort of tired regretting feeling but it seems that the song is a very particular taste not many people like it. i never used to like it but u know |
