Transplants – Weigh On My Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
if you want to hear the bit with brody, try actually listening to the song. i'm sure i read that this was "their" song. i thought i read that here though so it might not be true. |
Thunderclap Newman – Something In The Air Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i like to think the something in the air is smoke and that the instigators and arms/ammo are joints. "we've got to get together sooner or later" and hang out. |
Death in Vegas – Aisha Lyrics | 18 years ago |
that would explain "babies and blood" but what about the portrait on the wall? |
Muse – Hoodoo Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeah you can really hear jeff buckley on this one. i think this song might be from the point of view of the leaders trying to convince the country to see it their way. come and believe our lie and ignore all that other crap. you don't need t worry about it cause you're safe. the nightmare would be if the truth got out. the opportunity to be a better man would be telling the truth. |
Muse – Exo-Politics Lyrics | 18 years ago |
you've got this one figured out. maybe zetans could be a reference to mark of the beast (number 666)? bit of a stretch. the thing carried through the centuries could be the book of revelations and he's waiting for the real end of the world instead of the one the leaders are giving him about having to go to war and stuff. |
Muse – Supermassive Black Hole Lyrics | 18 years ago |
*terrifies i should read what i write more the title: black hole: people go in but they don't come out superstar is a reference to starlight |
Muse – Soldier's Poem Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the solider's being sent to war and he resents the government for it. "no justice" can refer to a few things. the unjust war, the fact that the soldiers are the ones who have to die because politicians are assholes, the fact that noone's calling them on it. "noone left for usd to blame" could mean we should blame ourselves for going along with it or that we can't blame sadam (or whoever) for the war cause he didn't really even have any nukes. |
Muse – Map of the Problematique Lyrics | 18 years ago |
could be from the point of view of an innocent iraqi who sees that they didn't do anything and that's being ignored. "when we bleed, we bleed the same" is trying to tell the non iraqis that they're all humans so stop killing us. or it could be about how they keep having these scandal type things where they'll find out that Our Glorious Leaders(tm) have lied or done something completely fucked and we've cared for a while and then after a while it gets accepted. eg. it turns out the only reason most of the supporters of the war felt justified wasn't even true. and for a while everyone was really pissed but now everyone seems to have forgotten about it and nothing ever came of it. |
Muse – Take a Bow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
pretty obviously about (our) government. osama doesn't run a country to cast spells on, he doesn't risk lives, and the chorus refers to a common desire (freedom), which doen't make sense for osama. it's not about osama. it's about the government (not osama). |
MC Chris – Hesh's Wedding Rap Lyrics | 18 years ago |
episode 14 - Der Dieb the one with "martian law" |
Muse – Invincible Lyrics | 18 years ago |
then again it could just be about having a fight and not letting it split you up. fight for the good of the relationship and "invincible" refers to the strength of said relationship. i like the call to arms angle better. |
Muse – Supermassive Black Hole Lyrics | 18 years ago |
thinking about the theme of the album, this song terrifyies me. just imagine the first verse being from the point of view of a suspected terrorist. i'm being tortured and lied about and held indefinitely. this song is pwnage. |
Muse – City of Delusion Lyrics | 18 years ago |
dawntreader has it. there's authority (the government it seems) and it's lying to you. but people don't like the thought so they build walls to protect themselves from the conspiracy theories "destroy this city of delusion" wake up to reality good one with the oil thing. so that verse is him talking to people in general. "you live and let die" is about peoples apathy to the war |
Muse – Invincible Lyrics | 18 years ago |
didn't mentiuon anything about it just being uplifting and awesome and stuff in general (though other people got that angle covered). it's a pretty good song |
Muse – Invincible Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"stand up for what you believe" do something about the goverment. if everyone's so pissed why does noone do anything about it? |
Muse – Starlight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"conspire to ignite" that goes with the main theme of revolution/change "the cells that would die just to feel alive" could be terrorist cells (maybe that's a bit tenuos but it would mean "the ship" could be suicide bombers. "the people who care if i live or die" they might not really care about his life, but instead how he dies well it's a thought and it fits with the main theme a bit but i don't know if i believe that's what they meant |
Mercury Rev – Nite And Fog Lyrics | 18 years ago |
oh, monsters want fish. suddenly it all makes sense(!) i always wondered if the monsters wanted the souls of other people (to eat or something) or if they wanted souls of their own. |
MC Chris – White Kids Love Hip-Hop Lyrics | 18 years ago |
man, there's nothing to do in this stupid town. rope swings busted. stinking cops always kickin me out of the park. manager of the 7-11 always saying "get off my curb, you good for nothing" all the girls already know i'm a bad kisser, so they won't come anywhere near me. i don't know how many times ive been to tgif. a kid can eat an onion bloom only so many times. bowlings boring. the skating rink's been taken over by 12 year olds. there aint no good movies out. blockbuster never has any good games in. i dont wanna play bombad racing, i mean what the heck is that? i'm sick of all my records and every time i walk into a record store i forget what i wanna get. and there aint nothin on tv, not a stupid thing. there aint nothin to do except take naps and wait patiently for death. oh, bullshit. |
AFI – Consult My Lover Lyrics | 18 years ago |
hard to believe when you see it written down but, yeah it does sound like that. i thought the same thing. he's right, you guys are pwnzord in the face. |
AFI – I Wanna Mohawk (But Mom Won't Let Me Get One) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeah, cfm. i'm surprised noone else thought so. i thought it was satire. "i was going to rebel but my mum said no, so i didn't" kind of defeats the purpose of rebellion, doesn't it? |
Skindred – Slave One Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the slave one is boba fett's spaceship. i don't think that's what this is about though. |
Tom Waits – Singapore Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i believe land of nod means land of wandering (i checked. it's hebrew) |
Be Your Own Pet – Adventure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeah, that sounds right. didn't it say ransacked before? |
The Beatles – Money (That's What I Want) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i thought they meant the flying lizards |
Ladytron – Cease2xist Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's about breaking up. Think, everyone that you kiss, do they cease to exist when you stop being missed? When you break up, do they not matter anymore? |
Be Your Own Pet – Adventure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
awesome song but it's hard to hear in bits. some corrections "and behind the pool" = "in the heart of Nepal" (i think) "and he's(?) caught sight of our elegant rubble" (elegant rubble means jewels) "lazy half" = "blazing hot" "the sun behind the start" = "the sunlight would start" "tiger sweet parts" = "tigers we've fought" "dodgeways" = causeways but it's all cool, you know cause we're like, adventurers |
