Soundgarden – 4th of July Lyrics | 13 years ago |
People do realize that a song can be about a nuclear holocaust and end of the world without any religious connotations right... Whether about a nuclear fallout or an acid trip, this song is in no way shape or form referencing the Bible or apocalypse. The world is going to end eventually and when it does it certainly won't go down the way the Bible says it will. |
A Perfect Circle – The Package Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This may not have been Maynard's meaning, but to me this song is about Gollum. Clever got me this far Then tricky got me in Eye on what I'm after I don't need another friend Smile and drop the cliche 'Till you think I'm listening I take just what I came for Then I'm out the door again - Gollum is pretending to be innocent, befriending Frodo and Sam, but he is really just after the ring. Peripheral on the package Don't care to settle in Time to feed the monster I don't need another friend Comfort is a mystery Crawling out of my own skin Just give me what I came for, then I'm out the door again - Smeagol needs to "feed the monster," which is Gollum and he can only be fed by getting the ring. Lie to get what I came for Lie to get just what I need Lie to get what I crave Lie and smile to get what's mine - Elaborating on Gollum's deception, he craves the ring Take what's mine, take what's mine, mine... Take what's mine, take what's mine, take what's mine, This is mine, mine, all mine - Gollum can't control himself anymore, he has descended into madness at the thought of the ring being destroyed and he plans to take it from Frodo at any cost, even death. I guess the lyrics can really be applied to any addiction, but to me having never been addicted, this immediately makes me thing of Tolkein's character. |
Nine Inch Nails – 1,000,000 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is telling us where the man from the downward spiral is now. I don't think that this album has an overall theme, I think it is just a combination of ideas. "if I could start again a million miles away I would keep myself I would find a way" In this song he is saying that he has achieved getting a million miles away from where he was in his life since he changed at the end of TDS, but he still doesn't feel anything. got these lines on my face after all this time and i still haven't found my place |
Soundgarden – Slaves & Bulldozers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
How can I be the first to comment on this amazing song? One of the best off BMF. I'm not sure what the song is about, but it is amazing. |
Puscifer – Momma Sed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Who is the women singing backup vocals in this song? |
Taproot – Nightmare Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Agreed, the music in the song is good, but the awful lyrics really ruin it. |
Puscifer – Momma Sed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Easily my favorite out of the Puscifer songs. |
The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is too kick ass for words to des cribe. |
The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is too kick ass for words to des cribe. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Misfit Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Not sure what it means just yet, but I must say thing song is pretty hypnotic. |
Queens of the Stone Age – I'm Designer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The meaning is pretty clear, one of the best songs on the cd I think. |
Nonpoint – Your Signs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
One of the best rock/metal songs of this decade, you can put it on repeat and listen to it endlessly without it getting old. |
A Perfect Circle – Nailed Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Prove it |
Mushroomhead – Simple Survival Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Waylon can have all the vocal range in the world, it doesn't change the fact that he can't write decent lyrics. Just compare the lyrics of the new cd to the old ones and you would have to be an idiot not to see a serious drop in quality. |
A Perfect Circle – Weak And Powerless Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love the guitar in this song. |
U2 – Sunday Bloody Sunday Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's a shame U2 doesn't make more great songs like this rather than religious garbage. |
Nine Inch Nails – God Given Lyrics | 17 years ago |
These are the lyrics to the fast whispering part of the song, I'm not sure if they are 100% accurate, but they are the best I could do. "We'd never tell you anything that wasn't absolutely true, that hadn't come right from his mouth and he wants me to tell you." |
Nine Inch Nails – In This Twilight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The song is the person witnessing a nuclear explosion in my opinion. "watch the sun, as it crawls across a final time" "and the world we set on fire" Burning from a nuclear fallout maybe. Nuclear winter possibly, the dust clouds cover the earth blocking out the sun light. "all the sky is filled with light" The flash from the explosion "dust to dust, ashes in your hair remind me" Dust and ashes from the explosion. These sites were released with the song, only further proving it's likely about some sort of bomb or nuclear explosion. http://www.hollywoodinmemoriam.org/ http://www.hollywoodinmemoriam.org/memoriam.htm The song is incredible in my opinion the best off Year Zero so far. It sounds more like a song to end the album, but its 15/16, which makes me very interested to see how the album ends. |
Nine Inch Nails – My Violent Heart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Nothing like I expected, but then again what NIN cd does sound the same? This song is awesome, the chorus makes you just want to keep chanting it over and over. |
Mushroomhead – 12 Hundred Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Like most of the songs on the new album, the music is good but the lyrics took a huge hit with J Mann's absence. |
Mushroomhead – Simple Survival Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I like the song's sound and music, but the new guy doesn't come close to Jmann's lyrics. The part where he raps has some amature lyrics, look at some of Jmann's parts and the lyrics are so much better. His voice is very close to Jmann's though. Lets face it, they will never be the same again. |
Mushroomhead – Mother Machine Gun Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is one of my favorite Mushroomhead songs. |
A Perfect Circle – Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This version of the song always reminds me of Pinion by Nine Inch Nails. |
Nine Inch Nails – Not So Pretty Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stP98CdvOr0 There is them playing it live for anyone who wants to hear the song. |
A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Anyone know where to get 3 Libras with the vocals removed? Maynard's voclas are amazing, but I would like to find a version with just the music. |
Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I don't understand how Cash got a grammy for this. He took the same lyrics and sung them in a sad way, which is the only way a song with such lyrics can be sung anyway. Just because the lyrics that were already there can relate to Cash's life, how does that mean he deserves any credit for the song? It makes me sick when I hear people talking about the song thinking that NIN did a cover of the song, when in reality Cash did the cover. Cash did a good cover, but in the end that is all it is. How many bands/artists have won a grammy for a cover of a song? My guess is not too many have. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Go With The Flow Lyrics | 18 years ago |
No other song can compare to listening to this song while driving. Go drive around in your car and listen do this song right now. |
Nine Inch Nails – The Great Below Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The song is about death and it has strong hints of Romanticism. Death is made out to be peaceful in the song and it sounds like he's saying the person dying is becoming one with nature again. |
Tom Petty – I Need To Know Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Short and sweet, yet another Tom Petty classic. |
Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 18 years ago |
IMO organized religion is a joke, people should think for themselves and make up their own minds about religion and not have it done for them. Why can't people believe certain parts of the bible, but not all of it? People need their own views an interpretations, not just what their parents and society shoves down their throat. |
Tool – Rosetta Stoned Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Whenever the song gets to about 6:30 and has the long musical part and then the lyrics go "High. Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position. Such a heavy burden now to be, the one. Born to bear and write you all the details of our ending. To write it down for all the world to see. But I forgot my pen. Shit the bed again... typical." I don't know about anyone else, but that part of the song blows me away every time I hear it. It just gives a crazy feeling inside you, this is one of the best songs on the cd. |
Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"(Notice its her name) In this song he, much to both my shock and dismay, curses our Lord and blames Him for her tragedy." Curses our lord? Don't speak so loosely. I have noticed several lines in the cd that sound as though they could be referencing religious meanings, but I doubt MJK has "found Jesus". If this song is suppose to be about how MJK believes in this religious garabe now, then ending the song by saying (Silence leech, and save your poison. Silence leech, and stay out of my way.) is kind of contradicting what your saying. Also note in Judith he says (inspiration for the ways that I will never choose to be), note that he says NEVER choose to be. "Fetch me the Spirit, the Son, and the Father Tell them thier pillar of Faith has ascended" I personally think that in this line he just means if what is mother believes to be true is true, then she is ascending to heaven. |
Taproot – Again And Again Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Lol, two years later and he finally gets a comment. More people should comment on Taproot songs, they really are a great band. |
Tool – Vicarious Lyrics | 18 years ago |
TREXOR, the pseudo intellectual morron, appears to have fled the boards. |
Tool – The Pot Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Imagine how ignorant Trexor feels after saying for so long now that the leak was fake. If you have been listening to Tool all along and know their style, than you wouldn't have doubted this cd for a second. This is 100 % genuine Tool and the cd is amazing. |
Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I wonder why the song is titled Jambi? I've been thinking, but I can't come to a conclusion. I would have to say this is one of my favorite Tool songs, it's amazing. |
The Underground – Tool Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I have the song and it's amazing. It certainly lives up to any expectations I had. The drumming is great. |
Taproot – Violent Seas Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Here I'll write something, this song is amazing. |
Nine Inch Nails – The Hand That Feeds Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think the ruff mix of the song is better, either way I like both versions. |
Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Also I respect Cash's version, but please people do not give him credit for the songs amazing lyrics. That is Trent Reznor's glory. |
Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The NIN version is far superior IMO. |
Nine Inch Nails – Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is amazing, anyone that thinks Trent lost his touch this is just one of the several examples proving that he is still making amazing songs. |
