This songs seems to be about a girl, but I think the 'girl' is really Carl. I think it is written about their friendship. It's such a sad song. Someone above said that it couldn't be about Carl and Pete because it was written before their fallout, but they have had fallouts since the very beginning of their relationship. There was never just one fallout. It's about all the good times they've shared and how sad it is that they know their friendship is falling apart and they can't do anything to stop that. A beautiful song - one of their best. |

Loving this song. I read in an article that it is kind of about Alex's high school years and how he was an outsider then. When it says "We've seen some change But we're still outsiders" He's saying that even though it's been a while he still feels like an outsider. I don't know if that's a bunch of crap or not, it's just what I read. This album is great, can't wait for Franz Ferdinand at the Big Day Out '06! |

| It's awesome to hear Taylor singing for once (although Dave Grohl's a legend and noone is better than him.) I never knew Taylor had such a good voice. I agree, In Your Honor is definitely the best album of the year - but it can never compare to the earlier foos albums like the colour and the shape - that one's the best. | |

In my opinion this is the most beautiful song everwritten. Unlike most of the crap that you hear on the radio these days this song is so passionate and heartfelt, even as I write this now I'm getting goosebumps. I know so many of you guys have already written this but this bit is just awesome... "Breath out So I can breathe you in Hold you in" I think the acoustic version is the best, it just amplifies all that is good about the feeling behind this song - Dave Grohl is such a genius. (Love the video, Taylor Hawkins looks hot even when he is dressed as a girl!) |
