A beautiful song. Makes me feel all emotional...

This song rocks! It's nice that they're glorifying renewable energy. The drums are mach 8 and definitely not slowing down.

Avenged Sevenfold – Radiant Eclipse Lyrics 18 years ago
I just need to say this: this song rox.

It seems to be exploring death, that, if souls do linger in this world, they would be overseeing what's going on and the grief their close ones are experiencing, yearning to comfort them, just that they have no voice.

The guitars are really great here. The riff at 3:18 owns. My fav a7x song. Definitely.

Stabbing Westward – On Your Way Down Lyrics 18 years ago
On second thought, it can be inferred that this song is targeting a criminal of some kind. This is hinted by the word "alibis", which is used in judicial contexts. Greed is also the cause of many crimes. I dunno, but it may fit in somewhere.

The Murderdolls – I Take Drugs Lyrics 18 years ago
Haha, it's amusing to see all the above responses. It comes to show that sarcasm is subjective in art. Just listen to the song, enjoy and figure out what it means to you.

If you have a natural inclination toward drugs, well, it's not the song's/artist's fault.

Wednesday 13 – Bad Things Lyrics 18 years ago
It's like something you wish will spill out in front of your most hated teacher in highschool or sth. Oooops.

Haha! I think both Wednesday 13 and Murderdolls are pure fun. It beats listening to depressing lyrics. Shouldn't be taken seriously though. x.x

Nine Inch Nails – The Day the World Went Away Lyrics 18 years ago
I think all the opinions here all piece together a good picture about what the song is about. All my NIN songs are from their live album, and I love them. It's weird that people kill themselves over songs. Yet to figure that out. How would Trent feel if he knew that his songs exacerbated someone's suicidal tendencies? Even if this song was about suicide, you're not the one being narrated, so get a grip.

Course of Nature – Wall of Shame Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with the opinions here. To me, sitting inside the wall of shame refers to recalling all the stupid things I've done to others and myself. And then to prevent the ego from deflating, you blame your actions on others and further delusion yourself.

My fav line is "Breathe in the vapors of your lies"

Sry aqueous1234, if emotive doesn't strike any feelings in you, you shouldn't be listening to it, much less criticising it in this manner.

The Verve – This Is Music Lyrics 18 years ago
Wow. One contribution only? This is like the most touching piece of music I have heard in a long while. To me, it's about being a musician. (I've been on the shelf too long. Sitting at home on my bed too long. Now it's time to hear my song.) The name of the song seems to be telling the listener that "music is the life i'm living now; this is music"

The writer sees music as something that reflects his thoughts about his life. Writing a song and the emotions and thoughts that go into it. (We've got a lot of living to do. There's a door in my mind that's open wide)

And of course the fun... (I'm gonna move on the floor with my sweet young thing. Down down down we go till we reach the bottom. Of our soul with this is music.)

A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics 18 years ago
I guess there's a reason why it reads "fuck YOUR lord, YOUR christ". Everybody has their own interpretations of what their god means to them. That's why some are staunch believers while others are less of that. I'd buy the story that it is about his mother's faith being strengthened after her paralysis. My take is that, Maynard is talking about his mother being affected by her religion, and questioning if she knows what she's believing in.

Personally, I don't think this is anti-christianity.

I dunno. This song strikes a chord that I cannot explain. I've let down people before, and I can still relive the moments that they come to me demanding answers to questions I can't even answer myself.

A Perfect Circle – Imagine Lyrics 18 years ago
I empathise with those that take issue with APC's cover. But as many others have said, we shouldn't listen to a cover song expecting it to be just like the original.

I fell in love with the "optimistic" version of Imagine once I heard it for the 1st time I heard it on the closing ceremony of the 1996 Atlana Olympics (performed by Stevie Wonder). It made me shed a few tears. And I was honestly shocked when I heard APC's version of it on Emotive. I didn't even dare listen to it because I had this predisposed notion of Imagine that it was a song of everything beautiful that John Lennon hoped for the world. The chords were just too haunting. Only recently did I start listening to it again and see the video, and after a while I just fell in love with this whole other message that APC was trying to send. It's just amazing... it was tear-shedding all over again.

A nod to Viro. I love this song. Its basically about people who piss/offend/lie to everybody around them off. The lyrics liken them to someone who digs his own grave slowly and everybody will be enjoying the moments while they self-destruct.

Tool – Eulogy Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, it's about people who appear to be so willing to give everything for others, be it Hitler (note: appear to be), Jesus Christ, our country's leaders making promises before electrons and stuff. This song questions how far they are willing lie to make up for their false sincerity. In a sense, the song is also saying that if you want to prove yourself as a true leader, then you have to make the "supreme" sacrifice as Jesus did, as in:

"To ascend you must die
You must be crucified
For our sins and our lies
Goodbye..."

Personally, I agree to certain aspects of this song, not all, as Tool tends to be rather intense.

Jimmy Eat World – Polaris Lyrics 18 years ago
Probably a jouney of some sort.
"I'll wake up tomorrow and I'll start
To another, it feels so hard"

I can't even play it more than twice in a row in case the tears start welling. Heelp.

Tool – Undertow Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree with emoxygen too. Tool songs are rather all-embracing and thought-provoking, without necessarily a reference to any issue for that matter.

This song reminds me of humans in general. In moments of impetuousness or rashness, we do certain things seem right at that point of time. When never learn from our mistakes - we can never remain objective at all times.

In a macro view, the world is like a deadlock. Everyone's caught up trying to keep up with each other and go with some unobservable flow, that we neglect the less tangible and less immediate but nonetheless important, doing rather stupid things in the process. Where is the reason? Talk about the Kyoto Protocol.

Jimmy Eat World – Polaris Lyrics 18 years ago
Everybody's interpretations of the song, or songs on this site for that matter are like reading meaning into a horoscope or Nostradamus' prophesies to a certain extent. But this is how life is, isn't it? Especially, songs can be interpreted differently by different people. Maybe this is the measure of a great piece of music.

What can i say but warm and touching? Can't help but start thinking about people whom i love. Though I have never experienced any 'lovey dovey' relatnships (family of whatever), the song makes me fall in love with somebody who may give me such security.

James Iha – Be Strong Now Lyrics 18 years ago
Its about encouragement and support, be it between friends, in relationships or just someone on the street whom you don't recognise. Sometimes you just want to show someone that you care in their times of need.

I love this song. Its so plain and soothing. And also great for a break from a hard rock diet =) We need more songs like this, well-received or not. I preferred the acoustic version much more, because it felt more personal and emotional, like somebody doing a song specially dedicated to you.

A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, its about the diappointment brought by people whom you trust or you believe in (even yourself). When you learn of the other side of them, it can be a rather hard blow and you wonder if they ever knew that you meant so much to them.

The song reminds me of a gloomy rainy day which accumulates all your sad thoughts.

How do some pple actually go about getting stuff about the horoscopes? Tis intriguing!
