This is really an amazing song. I think it's about two lovers coming together and copulating. The lyrics are all about two people coming together and being together, and the music has a definite rise and climax in energy. |

I read somewhere that the stutter was explained by various members at verious times in verious ways, most of which have been noted here. Which explains the controversy. I doubt we'll ever know what it really was. |

The first few lines, "Hello, darkness my old friend,/I've come to talk with you again" really intrigue me. Whatever interpretation you have of the song as a whole, this seems like he's withdrawing into the darkness to discuss all the problems of the world. |
