FIRST!
great song - the song's obviously influenced by Zep, though I really can't hear it myself. But from that, I think the song is just about loving Zeppelin, or just music in general. |

The Walkmen – All Hands and the Cook Lyrics

Haunting song - if it's about work, then it might be a veiled allusion about the pressures of the music industry.
The break in the middle lights up the entire song like a ray of light. |

I'm not American, but I thought it strange that Valli was having a great time when Kennedy was shot just a month before. But, I guess, losing your virginity has nothing to do with the political world outside. |

God - what a riff!!!
Amazing song that once again proves that the era 2001 to 2003 era was their best!
Fantastic song - Shoulda been put on the album |

Favourite song on the new album. I think suede67 is right, its about a high class call girl - I am reminded of Ashley Alexandra Dupré. |

My favourite scene in all of Underbelly One, was Carl Williams jumping on a trampoline, intersperced with images of death, murder and gore - with this song playing in the background - Brilliant. |

Fleetwood Mac – That's Enough For Me Lyrics

First to post for this, obviously, underrated song. This featured on "Tusk", the album after "Rumours." The only thing I have to say is that "Rumours" had "Second Hand News", and this is a similar Lindsay Buckingham song for the next album. |

Lady GaGa – Poker Face Lyrics

Just when I thought I grew out of Pop music, it somehow manages to pull me back in.
I just bought some Radiohead and Arcade Fire albums, but here I am listening to Lady Gaga, instead.
Dam you Pop Music. Im 31 years old for god sake! |

Drufus and OBadFaith are correct. Not only is this a great song (my favourite part is the electric bridge), but its lyrics show how much Im gonna miss George W Bush. |

The Shins – Australia Lyrics

Im a New Zealander, and hate this song without even hearing it!
The Manic Street Preachers have a song called Australia. The Kinks have a song called Australia. The Bicycles have a song called Australia. Bark Bark Bark have a song called Australia. Carl Cox even named an album after those bastards!
And now The Shins break my heart too!
Someone write a song titled "New Zealand"! Were sick of Hobbit references. We hate playing second best to neighbours - if youre Canadian, you know what I mean. If youre Rhodesian, you know what I mean. If your'e Welsh, Scottish or Irish, you know what I mean. |

I was as shocked as you are, finding out that this 70's rock sounding fun groover is from a band who dress in black and sound as if theyre depressed.
Finally a fun Emo song! |

Muse – Invincible Lyrics

Powerfully uplifting ballad from a band I least expected to hear it from -
I heard it from the video clip and interpret it that way - I think its about us in the post 9/11 world - The military drumming can only emphasise this. Thats' why I think this song is beautiful, because amongst what the Bush administration have lobbied, amongst what terrorist fundementalists have done, amongst what critics have said, we can still continue on as a species and a people
But how bout that guitar solo! Fucking Zany! |

You guys are far too romantic - When I heard the song it wasnt the lyrics that grabbed me, it was the riff - and what a Riff! |

Yes, funny you should say that. Stephen Morris is the only reason why I wanted to write something about this song. Like a metronome - perfect! |

Martin Hannett's eery production, New Order's sparse music, Michael Winterbottom's beautiful video and of course - the heart wrenching lyrics

Great song - Neil Finn is a great Kiwi songwriter - Love the video clip - The intro sounds like Bee Gee's You Win Again and from it has a similar meaning |

Favourite song off the album - it just sounds so early 80's minimalist Rap - I can hear Grandmaster Flash - or maybe thats just me |

George W Bush (and Tony Blair)
The album is full of scathing attacks on these two about the disaster of modern world politics
If you think Green Day's American Idiot was scathing, check this album
Other than that - WHAT A RIFF! |
