| This song and the video are incredibly hypocritical. Korn aren't some edgy band that does experimental stuff that mainstream music fans can't handle. They follow the pop formula just as much as everything they criticize, they constantly do glamorous big videos, and all of that stuff. There's nothing wrong with doing that if the band can do it while staying good and keeping integrity, but the simple fact is that Korn lost all of their integrity with this one song because all it does is condemn things that they themselves do on a constant basis. | |

It's not music that makes girls sluts, it's parents that don't teach their kids the different between entertainment and reality. "Your high is timed, you found the climb It's hard to focus on more than what's in front of you" This line describes the feeling of being high, where all you can do is focus on one thing because of the daze you're in. "Your buzz beginning to wane" Coming down, cooooooming down. As much as I love Green Day, I'm really starting to get sick of this song because it's representive of Green Day's new, almost sellout-like mindframe. They've gotten to the point where they're selling every bit of merchandise they can get their name on. And frankly, it pissed me off that they once sang a song like "Fashion Victim" but now when you look at them, they're nothing but an image. The whole eyeliner/dark clothing thing seems like nothing but an attempt for them to fit in with the rest of the crowd. No he didn't. Kurt called MTV and told them to play their videos more. Kurt made up stories in interviews to sound more mysterious. He constantly tried to sound deeper than he actually was. He admitted early on that his early songs ment nothing, but as soon as people started labelling him a genius, the songs suddenly had meanings to them, and were suddenly songs about how he expressed his angst and all those fun cliches. I used to be a die-hard Nirvana fan, and I read tons of interviews with Kurt and books about him, and every time they asked him about this song the meaning was different. The thing I've noticed with Stipe's lyrics is that he likes to write stories with fictional characters to represent a certain emotion, in this case hopelessness, instead of just writing a biographical song about himself. I think that this is a lot more interesting than that, because the other has been done to death.
