|Pete Yorn – Life On A Chain Lyrics||6 years ago|
I think it's about a close friendship - maybe even a sister or mom given the last name lyrics.
Clearly were his guidance and help, and when he deserted them shit went badly. It's all interconnected. "Sent a bottle of whiskey" to me relates to "dirty neighborhood." Basically his new life without them doesn't appeal to them, and without them things aren't going well for him.
|The Graduate – Anhedonia Lyrics||6 years ago|
These lines describe the entire song. It's a feeling anyone, especially in a big city club scene will go through...
I leave emotion at the door
Like a desperate boy at last call
No, I don't feel right in my skin
So I don't feel anything at all
He's out, just looking to hook up. No emotion whatsoever. Just wants to do whatever he can, say whatever he can, to go home with whoever.
|The Format – On Your Porch Lyrics||6 years ago|
"it's time to get out of the desert and into the sun" is a very clever/dynamic line and obviously has many levels.
first, it could mean out of AZ and into CA.
it also could just be a matter of perspective and ironic in the fact that the desert is the sun, it's just how you look at it, positively (the sun) or negatively (the desert). so he means "it's time to appreciate what i have and where I'm at in my life"
|Ivory – There She Goes Lyrics||7 years ago|
|no, it's about a close friend of theirs that passed away. they had several different songs about it, but the others were too personal for most people to hear comfortably.|
|Simon Joyner – Came a Yellow Bird Lyrics||7 years ago|
|I feel that this song is pretty clearly about suicide, and how even though the person is only trying to hurt, or kill themselves, they are also hurting the ones who are trying to save them, the yellow birds. I think he uses yellow birds perhaps as canaries were used in mines and when they would die, the people in mines knew they had to hurry out or they would die.|
|Damien Rice – 9 Crimes Lyrics||7 years ago|
To me this song is either about two people who have gone on a break or just broken up.
They are seeing new people and obviously doing things they wouldn't when they were together, and feel bad about it, to the point where it feels like cheating because they were obviously together for a long time and in love.
The gun part is what I feel is them both feeling mutual love for the other, and wanting to perhaps get back together, but being unsure how the other one feels. You know this as they both sing the exact same things, and their situations mirror eachother.
Last, I just love how she sings "yea" after her "Is that alright"? It's absolutely amazing. Every song on this album to me is like, so raw feeling that it seems like he just winged in on the spot, but then they are so deep you know otherwise.
|Aflightoremember – The Long Road Back South Lyrics||9 years ago|
|This is honestly one of the most well written songs I have ever read. An interesting way of recording it as well, I like.|
|Bright Eyes – At the Bottom of Everything Lyrics||9 years ago|
|This song is huge, it holds together so much of what he is trying to say in Digital Ash and I'm Wide Awake... any references to "yellow birds" you hear refer to the reference he makes in this song about "caverns of tomorrow." It's amazing how he fits everything together.|
|The New Amsterdams – Four More Years Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Perhaps a Presidential metaphor?|
|Autumn Falling – Rational Anthem Lyrics||10 years ago|
|It means I couldn't wait to leave Random Lake...pretty much.|
|Sum 41 – A.N.I.C. Lyrics||11 years ago|
|I'm pretty sure A.N.I.C stands fo Anna Nicole Is a Cunt. Last night at the concert he said "Anna Nicole is a stupid fucking cunt" before he played it. So if you play with that the A.N.I.C isn't hard to figure out.|
|Finch – Letters To You Lyrics||12 years ago|
|This is a really good song, don't get me wrong, but every time I listen to Finch I can't make it through more than a few songs without putting Simple Plan in. I like Finch, but honestly all of you should listen to Simple Plan. Songs like When I'm With You, Grow Up, I'd Do Anything, and I'm Just a Kid are just stellar. Check them out you won't be sorry. THanks.|
