I'm from Kansas City, MO (his hometown)... and I love this song, off of his 1st cd! It's dark, and the flow of the lyrics are rushed and fast...so it adds to the song. His lyrics on that cd were very raw,and clever. |

I know this song is supposed to be all touching, and everyone feels it ( I can even agree withthe lyrics)... but do you know how many songs have been written on the same subject?If you want to hear something with some substance, and realness for real... pick up ome old school r&b like minnie riperton, roberta flack, marvin gaye... that's your substance right there!!!! not only that, she is getting BEEFY rich (not that I'm hating, b/c she sure has way more money than I do... but money and popularity aren't important to me) off of Biggie's beat!!! How dare her!!!! Biggie was the s--t...and she just borrowed the beat (which was borrowed from Debarge in the first place), and had the nerve to put him on her remix! I am completely DEVASTATED!!! What happened to all the good music? |

I have this cd, among his others, and it is one of my favorites. It is basically speaking of the relationship with his ex-wife Anna Gordy. And this song is one of the strongest on the album. He's expressing that he is giving her what she wanted with the making of the cd; money. It is the narrator, or the Table of Contents, for the rest of the album.... and it was done ever so greatly.
