|John Legend – Maxine Lyrics||5 years ago|
|John Legend sings about cheating every other song. Really good artist though, he does it in a creative way.|
|Ben Folds – In Love Lyrics||5 years ago|
|This song made me an absolute fan of Shatner - Ben is most powerful.|
|Ben Folds Five – Silver Street Lyrics||5 years ago|
This song is about a woman that is trapped in a relationship and only wants to fly to Mexico and have a vacation on the beach for two and a half weeks. No it isn't.
I really like that the Ben Folds posters do not post stupid intricate meanings to songs. Shows only smart people listen to him or his songs are easy to understand so dumb people can listen to him...now I don't know which one I am.
|Ben Folds – Free Coffee Town Lyrics||5 years ago|
This is a lot like Ben's other coffee song - "And when I was broke I needed it more but now that I'm rich, they give me free coffee"
In a concert I went to he said that Starbucks gives him free coffee all the time and he thought it was funny because he now obviously has way more than enough money to pay for it. This guy is so down to Earth.
|Miley Cyrus – See You Again Lyrics||5 years ago|
That's because it is a rip off of "I wear my sunglasses at night" - it is an exact replica except for the chorus.
Of all the Miley Cyrus songs I have heard there are direct rip offs from other songs.
Can't blame Miley of course because she doesn't write her own songs...and the production company most likely owns the rights to the older songs they are ripping off so no royalties really needing to be paid probably.
|Gnarls Barkley – St. Elsewhere Lyrics||5 years ago|
This song is about a person who is going to the hospital. St. Elsewhere is a term used to mean a hospital that no one really wants to go to, but no other hospital will take them - noting the unimportance of the person in general - it is no one of great importance.
The person is drifting in and out of consciousness or unable to communicate with the person that he wants to visit him in the hospital - "send a simple sign I can understand". Communication is not long though - he was "back out on the sea" - so he lost awareness again.
The last lyric is not "She's a loser" (completely wrong and random) and not "She's St. Elsewhere" (good guess) it is plainly "St. Elsewhere". It is confusing because there is an effect on his saying "St. Elsewhere" - he said it, reversed it, then put the original recording on top of the reversed recording. That gives the effect of wind or whatever and sounds fantastic - it is used a lot in music - the confusion with thinking that "She" is said is that there is a "sh" noise that when reversed sounds like an "s" listen to it closely with headphones and you will hear it. The reverse could demonstrate the loss of life or slipping further into confusion in the hospital.
