The Jezabels – Mace Spray Lyrics | 12 years ago |
the second stanza to me is about an attempt to escape from the control through sex, she has to 'let it all go'. but then she can find the strength or she's afraid so she convinces herself 'she loves me'. |
The Jezabels – Mace Spray Lyrics | 12 years ago |
To me it sounds to me like her relationship with this woman, be it a friend, mother or her lover is abusive. But she accepts it because there's this rhetoric about doing this because I love you, I'm protecting you. "she loves me more that anyone who wouldn't raise a hand" (in anger). This woman is so afraid of men, the world that she's stifling the writer, "she keeps mace spray for you can't rely on the common man" I agree with monster that the second verse is about an epiphany, but this woman is once again trying to stifle it by telling her it wont amount to anything. "But she would say I won't find my way through the plaster; I'm an empty hourglass in the sand" But once again the writer is so under the thumb that these words aren't seen as coming from manipulation but love. |

Lana Del Rey – Million Dollar Man Lyrics | 12 years ago |
sorry didn't mean to post that as a reply. You're interpretation is very beautiful and personal. I never thought about the ending it for him, but I definitely hear that! oh and *broken.. that's going to annoy me lol. |
Lana Del Rey – Million Dollar Man Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I feel like this song is about a bad boy, he's got some kind of mental illness, I'd say most likely depression. But she's drawn to the darkness, and twistedness of his mind. She found it exhilarating and it dragged her down too. Now that he's gone, she's just left with the bad, the excitement is gone. Her heart is borken. She can't get over the way he made her feel like she was so special. "I don't know how you're convinced I'm a good thing." |

Take me to the Hamptons Bugatti Veyron It's a super expensive fast car |
Lana Del Rey – Dark Paradise Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I may be a little crazy, but I kind of think its about a guy that doesn't really exist. A dream guy, who wont be in the world when she wakes up. She wishes there was this guy in the world who will come and save her from her depression, but that guy wont ever be real. |
Lana Del Rey – This Is What Makes Us Girls Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I have a different version, the end is completely different.. Remember how we used to party up all night Sneaking out and looking for a taste of real life Drinking in the small town firelight (Pabst Blue Ribbon on ice) Sweet sixteen and we had arrived Walking down the street as they whistle, "Hi, hi!" Stealin' police cars with the senior guys Teacher said we'd never make it out alive There she was my little best friend High heels in her hands, swayin' in the wind While she starts to cry, mascara runnin' down her little Bambi eyes: "Lana, how I hate those guys." This is what makes us girls We don't look for heaven and we put love first It's something that we'd die for, It's a curse Don't cry about it, don't cry about it This is what makes us girls We don't stick together 'cause we put love first Don't cry about him, don't cry about him It's all gonna happen And that's where the beginning of the end begun Everybody knew that we had too much fun We were skippin' school and drinkin' on the job (With the boss) Sweet sixteen and we had arrived Babys table dancin' at the local dive Cheerin our names in the pink spotlight Drinkin' cherry schnapps in the velvet night Know we used to go break in to the hotel, glimmering we'd swim Runnin' from the cops in our black bikini tops screaming "Get us while we're hot", Get us while we're hot (come on take a shot) This is what makes us girls We don't look for heaven and we put love first It's something that we'd die for, It's a curse Don't cry about it, don't cry about it This is what makes us girls We don't stick together 'cause we put love first Don't cry about him, don't cry about him It's all gonna happen The prettiest crowd that you had ever seen Ribbons in our hair and our eyes gleamed mean A freshmen generation of degenerate beauty queens And you know something? They were the only friends I ever had We got into trouble and when stuff got bad I got sent away, I was waving on the train platform Crying 'cause I know I'm never comin' back. This is what makes us girls We don't look for heaven and we put love first It's something that we'd die for, It's a curse Don't cry about it, don't cry about it This is what makes us girls We don't stick together 'cause we put love first Don't cry about him, don't cry about him It's all gonna happen |
Kimbra – Two Way Street Lyrics | 12 years ago |
all the lyrics are right except the second line in the chorus And there's no conspiracy behind the way two hearts meet When love is a two way street |
Bright Eyes – Bad Blood Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Just because someone interprets a song differently to you doesn't make them a fool. Music is about self expression, it's about taking what you need from it. |
Bright Eyes – If Winter Ends Lyrics | 14 years ago |
To me winter is a metaphor in this song. Probably because it's the middle of summer here and i can relate to every line in this song like he wrote it just for me. the dead and eternal snow is the emptiness and the sadness that you get so bogged down in with depression. You can't see anything past it. The perfect spring is the other end, the light that people keep saying is at the end of this tunnel. "Just take me there and lie to me and say it's going to be alright" |
