|Paramore – Never Let This Go Lyrics||8 years ago|
|is it just me, or does the solo that starts at 2:20 in this song sound kind of like the beginning solo in miracle! ?|
|Jimmy Eat World – Let It Happen Lyrics||8 years ago|
these lyrics are ridiculously wrong...someone please change them. i think jellyjoe has it right.
i listened to this song all the time when i was with my ex. i think it's about the guy being afraid of commitment, and the girl thinks he is running away and he doesn't care. and the relationship definitely sounds like it has problems and the girl is blaming the guy for everything that's wrong, and they have the same arguments that go nowhere and don't resolve anything ("talk, talking a lot but it's still talk"). it sounds like the girl just expects the guy to fix everything because she doesn't think she's in the wrong at all. i think its describing a rough patch in a relationship, but i could see it being post breakup and the guy reflecting on how bad the relationship was. but, he obviously isn't over it.
|Something Corporate – Cavanaugh Park Lyrics||8 years ago|
|there actually is a real park in Orange County (where the band is from) called Cavanaugh Park. It's in Lake Forest. i don't know if this is actually the park that Andrew was writing about, but there's a good possibility it is.|
|Paramore – Crushcrushcrush Lyrics||8 years ago|
i think what it means is that there's two people that like each other, but the girl's a little more into actually being in a relationship than the guy because the guy's influenced by his friends. the "little spies" part makes me think he is really concerned with what his friends think, and his friends don't approve of her for whatever reason and say slanderous things about her to make him reconsider wanting to date her. ("they taped over your mouth and scribbled out the truth with their lies, your little spies")
and the girl feels that his friends are getting in the way of their potential relationship, cause she says she wants a quiet evening alone but it never happens...probably due to the guy spending more time with his friends than her or only hanging out with her in a group.
|Something Corporate – Watch the Sky Lyrics||8 years ago|
this song always makes me feel better after i've had a bad day.
it has a really uplifting message, which is basically that everyone has low points in their lives where they think they don't have the strength to carry on or that their life isn't the way it should be but that we have to get back on our feet again...first by crawling...and then overcoming our obstacles. it's just a reminder that even though life can be tough, in the grand scheme of things it isn't worth it to give it up through suicide or through living too safely without taking risks of getting hurt. just like, you have to remember that there will always be ups and downs and you CAN get through the low points.
at the beginning he starts out dejected by saying "i'm lost at sea...they won't find me", and then towards the end he starts saying "today was a good day" which shows that things are starting to get better because he's finding the strength within himself to improve his mindset.
|Escape the Fate – Not Good Enough for Truth In Cliché Lyrics||8 years ago|
this is what i take from it:
in romeo and juliet, they plan to die together so that they can be together. in this song i think that the guy has taken the fall for the
girl- he's died to be with her- and now his old enemies are taunting him, asking him what it's like "to die alone" cause juliet got cold feet in the end. (Since in the story romeo thinks juliet has died, kills himself, and then she finds out what happened and kills herself to be with him. in this situation, the metaphorical romeo just dies alone as if the girl has seen what the guy has done for her, how deeply he cares for her and etc. but doesn't care enough to do the same.)
it's been said that she cheated on him. i think that is most likely that the case. and he feels like he's been fooled by her pretending to die (metaphor for showing how much she cares) and then he does the same, but really she was lying the whole time. but who knows. maybe she cheated on him, maybe not.
and as for the Russian Roulette part, i think that has to do with how in relationships sometimes one person has to take a risk, and in Russian Roulette either you die or survive cause you don't know who gets the bullet...and "Romeo" is willing to take the risk but Juliet is not.
I feel like it's most likely "to my dear Juliet" and not "to find you Juliet" because it's the guy showing his devotion to the girl, but I guess it could really be argued either way based on my analysis.
|Arctic Monkeys – Mardy Bum Lyrics||9 years ago|
|I also had no idea what mardy bum meant. The Arctic Monkeys use so much slang that their American fans get confused. Yet, we still love them. How could you not?|
|Panic! at the Disco – There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet Lyrics||10 years ago|
|i think the tables being numbered (the title) is probably suggesting that the number on your table shows how important you are to the host. and i guess the song is suggesting that the number on the girl's table is something like 120 out of 125 or something like that.|
|Taking Back Sunday – What's It Feel Like to Be a Ghost? Lyrics||10 years ago|
|i think its just about ending a relationship, like the girl is a ghost to him. "going straight for the neck" suggests killing, because thats the weakest part of the body. i'm pretty sure it's a metaphor for killing the relationship, and if not he's probably just angry at her and rehearsing what he might do if he wasn't able to restrain himself and if he didn't have morals. in other words i dont think its about actually physically abusing someone.|
|Rookie Of The Year – The Weekend Lyrics||10 years ago|
Rookie of the Year is such an awesome band. I love Silhouettes (all eyes above.) But that song isnt on here...hmm.
This song is similar lyrically to Your Own Disaster by Taking Back Sunday. (Hey lush, have fun, it's the weekend.) Chances are there is no connection though...
|Thursday – Counting 5-4-3-2-1 Lyrics||10 years ago|
|yeah thursday does have better lyrics and thats what i like about them. what i like about taking back sunday is their sound. is it not okay for me to like both? geez.|
|Thursday – Running From The Rain Lyrics||10 years ago|
|counting 54321 and this song seem to be about the same event. lyrically this ones better. hopefully the sound quality of it is like counting 54321...i like the way that song sounds.|
|Taking Back Sunday – Your Own Disaster Lyrics||10 years ago|
really awesome song. i've played it like 10 times today.
umm its about a guy who is in love with a girl who doesn't take relationships seriously, but he really likes her and he wants her to give him a chance.
a "lush" is either someone who drinks or someone who has sex a lot, so "hey lush have fun its the weekend" is expressing his thoughts that she's just fooling around.
i don't know if "forget me its that simple" is something she said, or something he said. i'm leaning more toward it's something that she said, because he is saying she's worth the wait and that she doesn't know what she's been missing.
that's my take.
|Thursday – Counting 5-4-3-2-1 Lyrics||10 years ago|
i dunno the tone of this song is kind of detached. i feel like thursdays other songs express more feeling. its about someone getting hit by a train but when i first heard it i thought it was about suicide. i think the "what are you waiting for" line was kind of what threw me, and the person calling to his friends for help but no one hearing. (as in the way that people about to commit suicide reach out to others but sometimes the people they reach out to don't seem to care.)
personally i think its a good song. but maybe thats because i like fall out boy and the new taking back sunday. (the song reminds me of taking back sunday)
