|Between the Buried and Me – Shevanel Take 2 Lyrics||7 years ago|
They're not even deathcore. Progressive/techincal metal/hardcore, or just plain progressive/techincal, is probably the best term to describe them.
However, to describe this song, I'd use: surreal, beautiful, and serence.
|It Dies Today – Enjoy The Silence (Depeche Mode cover) Lyrics||7 years ago|
|Evergreen Terrace's cover is the best in my opinion, but this one is good, too. Which is big coming from me, as It Dies Today isn't that great of band in my opinion.|
|The Red Chord – It Came From Over There Lyrics||7 years ago|
|Well, it's the Red Chord. So yes, yes we do.|
|The Human Abstract – Self Portraits of the Instincts Lyrics||7 years ago|
Welcome home, an interrupted kitchen fight cut the ties.. You lay your blame in a god's name. Casualties must be defined now, before I trust you for a cure, because I'm not so sure.. You're not sorry.. You're not sorry..
Straight from the horse's mouth...err Nathan's mind.
|Further Seems Forever – Pagan Poetry Lyrics||7 years ago|
|Actually, before you go tossing verses around like you know stuff, Jesus meant that his arrival would cause controversy instead of being accepted by everyone mutually. Sort of like when he said “If you tear down this temple, I will rebuild it in three days.” He didn't mean the actual temple on the mount, he meant himself. Or are you incapable of understanding metaphors?|
|Acid Bath – Dead Girl Lyrics||7 years ago|
|lololololololo comparing HIM and Acid Bath.|
|Suicide Silence – No Pity For A Coward Lyrics||7 years ago|
|loollololllllo I'm insulted. Sorry I'm not your stereotypical christian and enjoy "non-christian" artists.|
|Bury Your Dead – All The Right Moves Lyrics||7 years ago|
I see this as being directed to a lover. Perhaps, he was on the brink of suicide when he met this person. He had nothing, and despite that, this person loved him.
Makes me think of my girlfriend.
|KoЯn – Twisted Transistor Lyrics||7 years ago|
Korn is about as metal as Britney Spears, that is to say they aren't. Seriously, the band has even said they aren't. Just because it SOUNDS like metal doesn't mean it IS metal.
Also, I love how people say "music is subjective" (paraphrasing) and tear down the people who say Korn sucks. But then the same people turn around and say "zgom korn = god" You can't have your cake and eat it too. Do one or do the other. Ok?
And, I've heard girl and a vibrator as the most commonly talked about theory about this song. Looking at the lyrics, that seems to be the most plausable one to me.
|The Acacia Strain – Pity Lyrics||8 years ago|
Good song. I'd never listened to it before today when I was going to store and my player was just going through The Dead Walk. And this song came on. And I was like "Whoa. This is good."
I think it's written to a girl that Vincent is really in love with, but some tragic happened to her (a coma perhaps?) and he desperately wants her to wake up. He stays by her side and nothing could tear him from her. He would be incrediably happy if he could have only her and no one else. She is everything that he has, everything he needs.
I can definetly relate to that feeling.
I could be wrong about the meaning though.
|The Acacia Strain – Whoa! Shut It Down Lyrics||8 years ago|
|This is pretty obvious, but he's pissed the fuck off at someone.|
|The Pillows – Advice Lyrics||8 years ago|
|Yeah. The instrumental is awesome.|
|Johnny Rebel – Alabama Nigger Lyrics||8 years ago|
|You're all retards. Shut up.|
|As I Lay Dying – The Darkest Nights Lyrics||8 years ago|
LMFAO AILD "brutal"? LMFAO LMFAO
Sorry. But AILD ARE pussies in terms of brutality, and the fall further on that list with every album. Look into REAL metal if you want true brutality. I'm not saying they aren't talented, because they are, it's just that AILD is by no means "some of the most brutal heavy metal in the industry".
I also find it hysterical that metalismylife would come in here to say don't trash talk my favorites when he trash talks other bands...hmmmm....
And it's possible to enjoy metal without metalcore, it just so happens most people enjoy both.
You know, just saying.
|Chiodos – Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek Lyrics||8 years ago|
So , one person insults the song and you have to attack an entire genre?
Saying that metal is talentless, metal songs have no meaning, et cetera, et cetera is a fallacious statement. Any genre of music takes talent, even if it is just a small iota for some or a vast ocean for others.
Take a closer look at bands such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Death, and Kamelot (to name a few). If you can honestly say none of those bands have any talent, then I would have to question your judgement.
I think some of you people need to sit down and think about what you are saying before you viciously attack a genre.
On another note, I enjoy this song. It's the one that turned me onto Chiodos, despite hating it at first.
|Suicide Silence – No Pity For A Coward Lyrics||8 years ago|
No respect for those who, as Emmure puts it, "When Everything Goes Wrong, Take the Easy Way Out".
That's another great song by another great band too.
|It Prevails – An Anomaly Lyrics||8 years ago|
"Even though I shall fall I will always stand up, dress the wounds, breathe in the air, this is who I am, I am an anomaly..."
Too many people get knocked down, and give up. Stand up, dress your wounds, take a breath of air, and kick some ass.
|It Prevails – Explanation: Content Lyrics||8 years ago|
Your faith is fear
Mine is not lost
Only found within myself.
From a distance my sight is bleak
And my friend’s knees
They grow calloused
But their passion does not seize
And our friendship, it succeeds
And our bound hands
They bridge the gap...
One person is religious, heavily (caloused knees from knelling to pray) and the narrator is deist/nontheist (probably nontheist, but I'm not sure) or possibly agnostic/atheistic (I doub this one though). However, despite their differences in opinion and disagreement, they are friends.
The spoken part is the narrator's take on how we can't comprehend a deity or at least an infinite being.
That's what I got out of this.
|Incubus – Megalomaniac Lyrics||8 years ago|
|Obviously it's about smoking pot. That's whatever Incubus song is about, right? =P|
|The Acacia Strain – Angry Mob Justice Lyrics||8 years ago|
First thought says: Nuclear Assualt. M.A.D. Mutually Assured Destruction. And the aftermath of it all.
On a side note, my favorite part of the song is right after "That would never been seen again" when the song seems like it's going get happier and then it just kicks your ass.
|The Comeback Kid – Defeated Lyrics||8 years ago|
The final act of life. Giving up. Let them control you. Life'll be much better, even it wears you out with them in charge of you.
So. Just. Give. Up.
It's about how I feel right now.
|Dethklok – Go Forth & Die Lyrics||8 years ago|
I'm bringing in Dethklok to play this at my graduation party.
All there is to it.
|Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics||8 years ago|
Good News For People Who Love Bad News introduced me to Modest Mouse, this song be exact. I'm actually glad I stopped flipping channels when the video was on MTV to watch. They're actually really good.
As for the meaning, just float on. Ignore all the bullshit in life. I know a lot of people like this. I really wish I could have the same attitude.
I'm a bit of a pessimist.
|A Day to Remember – Fast Forward to 2012 Lyrics||8 years ago|
|Definitely a nod to the fans. Anything else is reading in too far.|
|Leftover Crack – Atheist Anthem Lyrics||8 years ago|
|You should have just asked me. I'm Jesus.|
|The Aquabats – Chemical Bomb Lyrics||8 years ago|
This song is so calm, so serence, so placid. And it's about the grostequeness of human kind.
Also, it makes me think of Dead Rising. Especially the food market part.
|The Aquabats – Super Rad Lyrics||8 years ago|
|Iunno. It is The Aquabats! It could be gorillas.|
|Rebel Meets Rebel – Nothin' to Lose Lyrics||8 years ago|
|Yeah. Good song.|
|The Black Dahlia Murder – Dave Goes To Hollywood (Vice Campaign) Lyrics||8 years ago|
I maintain it is about drunk driving suicide. Offer proof otherwise, and you may convince me.
A DEBATE IS AT HAND!
|The Black Dahlia Murder – To You, Contortionist. Lyrics||8 years ago|
"There's death metal here, when death metal becomes more melodic it becomes emocore, and when it gets even more melodic and symphonic it becomes black metal, so you may say emocore is right between death metal and black metal."
This makes me smile. Thank you. I needed it.
|The Chariot – Someday, in the Event That Mankind Actually Figures Out What It Is That This World Revolves Around, Thousands of People Are Going to Be Shocked and Perplexed to Find Out That It Was Not Them. Sometimes This Includes Me. Lyrics||8 years ago|
|I'd have to go with "I'm not worried about the end. I'm not worried the end. I'm not worried the end. Are you...worried? *beep*"|
|Chris Tomlin – Indescribable Lyrics||8 years ago|
It is ironic that in calling god indescribable we are in effect qualifing part of him and therefore describing him.
Just some food for thought.
|He Is Legend – Suck Out the Poison Lyrics||8 years ago|
Actually He Is Legend isn't "christian," which is a terrible qualifier for music at any rate. They are signed to a label that has predominately christian oriented bands.
That given, both are good theories. I'm leaning towards the girl one however.
|Demon Hunter – Undying Lyrics||8 years ago|
Eh, niceguypose, the album was sorta touch and go with me. Sure, most of the songs (in fact all of the songs, Snap Your Fingers excluded duh) have very obvious fundamentalist meanings. But this is probably one of the better songs.
This, Fire To My Soul, and One Thousand Apologies are probably the best on the album, both lyrically and musically.
I'd take Summer of Darkness over The Triptych any day of the week though. Much more solid album.
|Demon Hunter – On Thousand Apologies Lyrics||8 years ago|
Tofu, the lyrics in the booklet didn't have the part after the quote. So I didn't know what they were. I'll add them in...a year and a half after adding this song...
But whatever, it happens.
|HORSE the band – A Rusty Glove Lyrics||8 years ago|
Wow. Such honesty. It's funny how at first these songs seem like collections of randomness with a funky synth beat. But when you look at them there's actual substance.
And burritos are always good break up food.
|Zao – Physician Heal Thyself Lyrics||9 years ago|
|So far, I've only been able to listen to this song in a noisy homeroom (right now), but ti sounds great. I can't wait for the new album either.|
|The Red Chord – Fixation On Plastics Lyrics||9 years ago|
"It is a wonder we remember how to breathe without a computer telling us to do so."
This line makes me laugh because someone pretty much said the same thing to me. I wonder if they like The Red Chord.
|Symphony X – Of Sins And Shadows Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Actually Satanism the philiosophy, as you've described it, accounts for 99.99% of all Satanists. There are a few that do actually sacrifice people and what not to Satan, and that would be Satanism the religion.|
|Panic! at the Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Occult, that is by the most obvious meaning. Thank you.|
|Johnny Rebel – No Niggers In Our Schools Lyrics||9 years ago|
|The Black Dahlia Murder – Dave Goes To Hollywood (Vice Campaign) Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Tis about driving drunk and getting in a car wreck.|
|The Black Dahlia Murder – Funeral Thirst Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Viking is an offshoot of Death, dur|
|As I Lay Dying – 94 Hours Lyrics||9 years ago|
I'm pretty sure it's about God/Jesus.
However, the double bass is awesome. My friend's learning the drums to this song.
|Underoath – Reinventing Your Exit Lyrics||9 years ago|
"You got me up against your wall"
That would be Satan pushing the character up against his (Satan's) wall of sin and vices.
And thank you for posting an opinion on the meaning, not "ogm dalls wuz coolur nue underoath sux ballz!!1!!!1!1!11"
|Underoath – It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Because Underoath does what they want.|
|Air – Remember Lyrics||9 years ago|
|We surrender, stop shooting at us.|
|Stretch Arm Strong – The Sound Of Names Dropping Lyrics||9 years ago|
|Seems like it is about a relationship that seemed like it'd last forever, and then didn't.|
|The Black Dahlia Murder – Funeral Thirst Lyrics||9 years ago|
No actually, Death helped pioneer the death metal genre that combined with the usual preoccupation with death and gore lead the genre to be called death metal.
And saying so-and-so is such-and-such genre because they toured with these guys is the worst argument for proving something. According to your logic Every Time I Die is emocore because they'll be on the Vans Warped Tour with Emery. Or that Underoath is chaoscore because they toured with The Chariot.
Just doesn't work. Sorry.
Also, Training for Utopia is much better than Demon Hunter.
|Demon Hunter – My Heartstrings Come Undone Lyrics||9 years ago|
Littlehugs, stop trolling and go be a nice retard. =D
Shadow_Hawk_619, check out Underoath's older albums (Act of Depression and Cries of the Past). As I Lay Dying is alright; however, Norma Jean, The Chariot, and Becoming the Archetype are better. Living Sacrifice is good as well. And if you want to try some Christian Black Metal (oxymoron!) look into VIXIVI.
