Philip Ryan (17 June 1957 – 8 October 2013), professionally known as Philip Chevron, was an Irish singer-songwriter and guitarist, perhaps best known as a member of The Pogues. He was also regarded as one of the most influential figures in Irish punk music as a founding member of the seminal Irish punk band The Radiators from Space. His songwriting credits include the Pogues' "Thousands are Sailing," and the Radiators' "Song of the Faithful Departed," both of which have entered a canon of modern classics of Irish music. He has also produced a number of records by other bands and assisted in the development of many Irish and Irish-themed musical theatre productions.
