Ghost (also known as Ghost B.C. in the United States due to legal reasons) is a Swedish metal band which formed in 2008. Ghost is well known for their Satanic lyrics and breathtaking theatrical on-stage presence. Five of the group's six members (known as "Nameless Ghouls") wear black hooded cloaks and black bauta mask, while the vocalist "Papa Emeritus II (formerly known as Papa Emeritus)" captivates you with his authoritative presence and appears in a prosthetic mask with skull face paint and a black cardinal's robe and mitreadorned with embossed upside down crosses. The band members remain nameless, faceless and anonymous as much as possible in order for the experience to be stronger for anyone who is listening or watching. Musically, the band is often compared to bands such as Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult and Mercyful Fate. The band's debut album, "Opus Eponymous," was released in 2010, and its follow-up, "Infestissumam," was released in 2013.
