Zedd was born into a family of musicians. He began playing piano at the age of four. He later played drums in a band. In 2009 he began producing electronic club music, which was well-received. He won the Beatport’s “Armand Van Helden/Strickly Rhythm Remix Contest” that same year. He later won a second Beatport contest. His first release was The Anthem, which was on the Beatport charts Top 20 and it took second place on the Track It Down charts. His Skrillex remix (Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites) was #4 on Beatport and #2 on Beatport’s Electro House charts. Zedd has no record label, although he has a total of 11 albums/songs.
