FOR OUR HERO are the ever-growing Cinderella story of the Australian music scene.
Establishing themselves from the ground up without the luxury of financial backing or management, this 5 piece Melbourne based pop rock act decided to take the industry on independently. It’s been another rollercoaster year for the band, their debut album reached number 2 on the iTunes rock charts, followed by a highly successful album tour and sold out shows with international superstars Yellowcard and Mariana’s Trench. To finish up the year, they’ve locked in some shows early next year, at Melbourne’s Big Day Out and Short Stack’s Shaun Diviney’s solo tour. For Our Hero dropped their new single Take The Night, which debuted at number 5 in the rock singles on iTunes and will be part of an EP due early 2013.
In mid 2012, For Our Hero unveiled their highly anticipated first full-length record ‘STRANGE DAYS’, which rocketed to #2 on the iTunes rock charts to earn a #3 spot on Australia's Independent AIR Charts, receiving acclaim from recognisable sources and obtaining national airplay on stations including the 2day Network & Triple M.
"I actually really like it. It's like super different, it’s got that edge" says Sophie Monk while co-hosting the Hot-30 countdown "I didn't really believe it was from Australia".
“I listened to the new For Our Hero album about 3 times through now, and can honestly say, I’m so proud of those boys. (It’s a) Whole new level.” Shaun Diviney of Short Stack tweeted after he was sent an early copy of the album.
For Our Hero are here to make an impact, and you can’t help but feel that this is not just a band with an idea- this is a band leading a movement.
