Meilyr Jones is a Welsh singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist specializing in whimsical chamber pop.
As a teenager in Aberystwyth he co-founded the psych-pop band Race Horses (originally called Radio Luxembourg) in 2005.
Singing in both Welsh and English, he was Race Horses' lead vocalist for three releases: the 2007 EP Diwrnod Efo'r Anifeiliaid, 2010's full-length Goodbye Falkenberg, and their final album, Furniture, released in 2012.
During this time, Jones spent three years at the Royal Academy of Music before dropping out, and assisted other musicians, appearing on Cate Le Bon's 2012 album Cyrk and joining Neon Neon's touring band in support of 2013's Praxis Makes Perfect.
His debut solo album, 2013, was released on 18 March 2016 via Moshi Moshi Records, and documents the time he spent in Rome, Italy in the aftermath of the breakups of both Race Horses and his personal relationship.
