Roberto Cacciapaglia was born in Milan, Italy in 1953. He is an Italian pianist and composer who studied music at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, under the direction of Bruno Bettinelli. While there, he also studied electronic music and orchestra direction. From 1975 through 2010, Cacciapaglia is credited with 12 recordings. He has worked for Italy’s national television station in Milan (Dept. of Phonology at RAI), and he has studied computer applications in the field of music as a collaborator with the National Research Council (CNR) in Pisa. According to Cacciapaglia’s own website, “he was involved in studying sacred music and dance, and for a number of years he has conducted a research effort that studies the powers of sound. His music draws inspiration from these experiences and passes through emotions rather than through traditional rules and structure.” His genres have been described as classical and “pop rock.”
